Is there any way to improve the quality of my computer output on my HDTV?

I have a Sony Laptop and have connected it to my 37'' Proton HDTV. From my understanding my TV is capable of 1080 DPI and is connected via the S video cable on my laptop. The picture is alright but text is somewhat difficult to read.. any help adjusting my laptop's display to better suit the TV would be appreciated

S-video cables can only use 480i signals, that's plain old analog TV quality. To see HD quality you have to use VGA, component, DVI, or HDMI cables.

What kind of outputs does your laptop have and what kind of inputs does your TV have?

Your TV is capable of accepting a 1080i input signal, but it may not be able to DISPLAY the signal at that resolution (in fact, that's doubtful). You need to find out what the Native Resolution of your TV is. That's the "real" resolution of your TV, i.e., the actual resolution of the panel.

And, as the previous responder pointed out, S-Video is only good to carry 480i (standard definition) signals to your TV. If your laptop has a DVI connector, you can connect it to a DVI or HDMI input on your TV and get the best possible signal. If it only has a VGA output, you can connect that to the component (red/green/blue) video inputs with the right adapter and still get a pretty good HD signal.

I watch Arrow too. I even have actually watched some episodes from each and each prepare you have listed yet they have extremely solid scores on IMDb. i admire Grimm, Hannibal, Revenge, and The Mentalist. And cutting-part-day family members is humorous.
