Quakers have a saying: You say 'The Bible says this.' 'The philosophers say that.' 'The prophets say this.' I ask you: What do YOU say?

I think it's fine if they use scripture that pertains to the subject. It does seem to bother the athiests Ive noticed...you're a Christian though so why would this bother you?
*this is a fish post btw*
And seriously, people should stop using the word "retarded"

What kind of Christian exactly? Sorry if this comes across as a form of judgement but, you certainly don't sound like one who has been born again and if you aren't born again than you aren't a true follower of Christ.
Furthermore, people who give answers a thumbs down for quoting scripture are mostly those who resent hearing or seeing it because they are 'Haters of God'.

The reason that I do is the question that I am trying to answer the Bible has the answer. I think that most people answer from the Bible for the same reason.God bless

I never use scripture when I answer a question. I dont really know a whole lot of scripture, I'm not that good with reading my Bible everyday.
But I do agree with what your saying. Simply state your opinion.

The bible says to use the bible with non-believers. But I do get your point as I used to be a atheist and really hated it when someone would only try to chapter and verse me to death, it is one of the reasons I don't do it.

What does being a Christian? It means being Christ-like. If someone wants an answer we want the asker to realize that we're not speaking our opinion but that of God's.
In fact, being a Christian yourself you must be familiar with the fact Jesus never spoke of his own initiative, he always referred to His Father's words ..... in fact he said, "What I teach is not mine, but belongs to him that sent me" - John 5:16
---sorry, had to use a scripture

Hmmm, I never noticed that. I am a Christian too, and I believe in using Bible verses, but not when it's unnecessary.

Because to many people are ignorant of the truth, and why not, you sound as if you are embarrassed to be a christian. Blessed are you when men hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man.
Luke 6:21-23 (in Context) Luke 6 (Whole Chapter)
Luke 10:16
"He who listens to you listens to me; he who rejects you rejects me; but he who rejects me rejects him who sent me

True. When you use scripture it makes us think you can't think for your self. We prefer to know what you think. Not what the bible thinks.
