When first in love it is like you describe as it grows and matures it becomes 'comfortable'.
Lust and infatuation are often confused as love by young people it is only when you have moved through these stages and you are still together that genuine 'love' is felt and recognised. Being in love does mean being able to be apart for periods of time and enjoying each other when together again. Think of the long term marriages of those who are in the military.
So, if your head is running a none stop CD on them and you can hardly wait to see them it is normal though not necessarily 'love'.

Being in love (or falling in love) is the most wonderful feeling in the world (next to your wedding day and the birth of your child). It gives you the sense that you are on top of the world and nothing bad is ever going to happen.

Well love is different to every person there is no simple answer. But if you think it's love to you and cant stand being away from him/her than it could be love. Yes you can fall out of love but it's a timely process and it hurts.

in a research being in love give rise to some of our hormone and this affects our personality like doing things we dont normally do and as time goes on we adapt ourselt to each other and the hormone goes back to normal. thats why most long term relationship fails.
