Pagan's take control of their destiny with spells and Christians give their fate into the hands of something else with prayer.

Christian prayer usually just involves thinking or speaking your request or admiration. Spells involve a physical act that goes along with your request or admiration.
Christians pray to one God regardless of the request, while Pagans may choose to work with different deities depending on the nature of the spell.

There isn't as much of a difference as most of us might like to assume.
They're very very similar.
But us Pagans try to use our own will, the belief that this power not only has to come from inside us; but a pure result has to be obtained through *our* pure intentions.
Whereas Christians are accepting the belief that they are unable to do such a task on their own; that they need to channel that energy and desire through their god for it to have an effect.

If I'm remembering correctly more than just one force or entity is called upon. I had a good friend who was a Pagan, and she and I used to play compare and contrast quite frequently. Unfortunately they moved away before either one of us got email and we lost track of each other.

The way I've explained it to others is that when I choose to conduct a spell, I'm still praying but taking an active part in the prayer rather than just saying words.

Good question. One involves more input from the person.

hmm...both are focusing positive energy.
i guess the real difference is one is asking for help and the other is trying to help themselves.
they're actually pretty similar.

Um...both mutter words into the air, but one also provokes the power of nature, while another tries to provoke a being that has no evidence (other than speculative) of existence, and hoping it comes true...did I get it right?

There is not real difference in the effect of either. That is no result. The method differs in the action. Christians tend to only speak words. Pagans often times use Animals and Minerals.

Ah and once again my loveable demonic friend you unveil the WILLFUL ignorance of those who CLAIM to have the ONE truth.....yet still choose to LIE to convince people of it.
I am curious as to your opinion on the difference though. I love your insight. ;)
