The ginger in ginger ale is a natural stomach soother. Ginger has been used for 2000+ years as a remedy to aid digestion and treat stomach upset, diarrhea, and nausea.

Most ginger ale doesn't do a whole lot for you. It doesn't have much sugar in it, though, and drinking carbonated beverages will help you burp, so if your stomach aches from gas, it will help.
Vernor's called itself ginger ale a long time ago, but these days, it's simply "gingery Vernors". It definitely help.
Adding lime sherbet to a carbonated beverage will simply pop the bubbles, and you *lose* the benefit of the carbonation.
Peppermint oil tends to sooth an upset tummy. You can either have a Starlight mint, which gives you a *little* oil over a *long* time, or you can have some Peppermint Schnapps. Some people prefer a Grasshopper, which buries the peppermint oil in an alcoholic ice cream drink. I enjoy the schnapps, or a grasshopper, and depending on the brand, may enjoy a Starlight mint.

Ginger calms the tummy. You can eat ginger snaps if your stomach is upset and it will settle it. Gingerale should do it as well. I don't know about the Lime sherbert but it sounds good, I LOVE sherbert!

Ginger ale and Saltine crackers. Also try catnip, its excellent for children or chamomile tea (these are two of the 16 leeches). I hope your little one feels better soon.
Also try jolly rancher jelly fruits, or other candy, etc. - the pectin has as anti-nausea affect. Something with pectin in it.
You could also try Ginger Beer (its soda pop)

Gingersnaps work, too, but I've never heard of using lime sherbet. You may also want to post this question under Health, Alternative Medicine. They get a lot of questions like this there, and may be able to give you some other good ideas, too.

A glass of water w/1 tbsp. of baking soda stirred in will help a stomache. He may not like it, but it works, especially if the cause of the stomachache is gas.

I don't know but i was traveling with a bus full of teens and when one of them got sick, she was still bad the next day. One of the moms took carbonated water, salt, lemon and had her drink it. I thougth it was an old wive's tale, but within minutes the child was up and bouncing around.

No, but it may control nausea. Although I have better experience with fresh lemon juice. Sugary stuff doesn't help nausea at all.
