I have a reoccuring dream where I am on a beach, and there is a huge tidal wave coming, I always crouch down, or hide behind something and hold my breathe, and it comes and knocks me over, and then another tidal wave will come, the dreams are always really realistic, and the scenery changes, but it's always a huge tidal wave. What could this mean????

beach = desire
huge tidal wave = difficulties, changes

Recurring dream means something has not been resolved. Projecting in the beach shows some sign of desire of being in the good environment or situation. However, you are having some sort of blockage that prevents your from having your desire. In other words, you are feeling disrupted many times when it comes to things you want to do. Those things could mean changes you are facing now.

Basically you want to vent out this kind of dream because you are helpless.

when I was around 10 years old or so, I had a recurring dream of being in the ocean and trying to get to a rowboat, but it was heavy waves and every time, right before I would get to the boat, the waves would roll over me and I could not get to the boat. I think I always ended up going deep underwater, but then I would wake up. These dreams started right after the sudden death of my father. Maybe the waves is you being taken away from something you care about, or something you care about going away

The wave symbolizes the constellation of enormous amounts of unconscious material. - "The waters of the unconscious. "
I think it is very good that you are not swept away by the wave. Instead, you are prepared, and you hold your breath- your life.
In your daily life, do you have big dreams and a very busy imagination? Are you stretched a bit thin- wanting to do this and that? Are you lacking focus?
I think your dream is saying that you do have the strength to be both imaginative and focused on your goals in life. But you need to avoid too much distraction.

It could mean that you could possibly be swept away by something or someone. It could be symbolic, or it could simply be a dream about a tidal wave.

You're feeling overwhelmed or pushed away from people that you consider close -- like you're being ignored. You're trying very hard to overcome it personally, but you seriously need to talk to your friends and family before something bad or drastic happens to you.
