My mom is not the stereotypical mother. She has lied and cheated on my dad and told us all about her affairs in major detail. We grew up not telling my dad any of this. Well one night i got pretty sick of all the fighting and fussing and just told him. Not about all the men but some. They've been divorced since i was little but always lived together. I just get soo tired of lieing for her all the time that it finally caught up with me. My dad's really a great hard working guy it sucks to see him go through this. Anyways since then my mom has completely quit coming around except to come see my daughter or use my computer. She started hanging out with one of my freinds i used to go to school with. Now they are insepertable. I'm sorry but my mom's 40 years old and this girl is 22. It really hurts cause i feel like i've been replaced. I'll make time and ask her to come over and she says she will and never does. I cant help it but i'm jealous of her new freind. I know its pathetic but cant

She's a manipulative messed up woman in total denial. I'm so sorry you feel trapped by her issues. It's really not cool for a mom to put her own daughter through this... I'm glad you can at least see more clearly than she can.

you are right, she is not the stereotypical mother. she is not being a mother at all. & by running around with your friends and people half her age she is acting like she is back in high school. she is doing stuff a 40 yr. old mother has no business doing. also, it's bad to cheat on a partner, but to tell your kids about it is even worse.

please do not be jealous about her hanging out with someone else. she is up to no good and not worth it. she is your mom & should act like your mom & not your friend. she is not a good person at this time in her life and is not a good influence on you or your child.

seriously consider not letting her come around to see your child or use your computer anymore. you can still love her but don't let her have access to you or your child until she changes. don't answer the door or her calls when she tries to contact u. if you do happen to come face to face with her just explain that you are busy and will talk to her later (basically blow her off). she will eventually get the message.

this is the only hope of her ever changing her behavior and be the mother and grandma she should be. but if she doesn't want to change, you should just keep on keeping on. she will look back someday and think what a stupid person she was & have many regrets. hang in there and stick to your guns.

You are a lot more mature than your mother. You did the absolute right thing in telling your father. Your mother sounds like one of the mothers who never grew up. Ignore your mother. She is just trying to make you jealous by hanging out with your old classmate. Don't even act jealous in anyway because that's what your she wants.Eventually your mother will get tired of you not reacting to her attemps. Good luck with everything.

None of your business. Ignore them, concentrate on what's important in your life, your child and your father. You won't ever please your mother, she's obviously riddled with self loathing and it colors everything she touches. Stay away from her and live your own life.
