If you don't take the word 'day' literally, you can read the Genesis account as taking place in six 'periods', or stages. These stages generally agree with current scientific thought regarding the age of the earth. The sixth day ended with the creation of Adam and Eve, which you can calculate at about 6000 years. But the length of the 'days' before that is anyone's guess, and I think the scientists have a pretty good one.
As for the dinosaurs, we can only assume He knew what he was doing. Someday we'll have to ask him.

Hardly any Christians believe that. The few that do are known as young Earth Creationists. Even God said a day to Him is like a thousand to us, but apparently these people are foolish enough to think they know better than God. Oh why do you say Jesus was a Muslim? Do you think He's dead? Well, He was NEVER a Muslim and He is Risen. He is Lord.

It's hard to know. God said he created the world in 7 days. But then the Bible also says that some men lived to be a couple hundred years old!! It could be that days were different back then, and that the Earth really could be millions of years old. I guess we'll find out in heaven.

There was no death or bloodshed before the fall of man. Scientific evidence is incorrect. They simply estimate how long Earth was around by how fast the Earth erodes/develops mountains/etc. The dinosaurs were created along with the other animals; they were starting to be destructive along with the evil humans, so God told Noah, his family, and non-destructive animals into the ark and sent to flood to destroy all the dinosaurs and evil people.

Why? Because some preacher says he calculated the age of the Earth by counting the number of generations of men and women in the bible. That's how the number was arrived at. And as to why some Christians believe that, it is a mystery to me.
not very scientific...

Just so you know about CL Richardson's link, the creator of that site is in jail for fraud. That should sort of point out a bit about the reliability on that.
Anyone who in any way believes the earth is 6000 years old has never read their own bible. The Ancient Sumarians we know for absolute fact started pre-4k BC. They are mentioned in the bible.

They added up the ages of the people in the bible and were like "yeah this has to be the number, there couldn't have been other things happening between this." And, god put the fossil fuels and dinosaur bones there to confuse us to see if we would denounce him.

The earth is 4.5 billion years old. Now that you know that, I'm not going to comment on the rest. Good luck!

Someone without a life actually added up all the "begets" in the bible and figured their average life span and that's how they came up with the number... I KID YOU NOT!
