They won't hurt when removed. I've had tons of stitches, and they never hurt when removed.

Don't worry! It may hurt a little when the stitches are removed, so breathe deeply out of your nose each time the doc pulls a stitch! It'll help. Don't hold your breath...it makes the pain worse! LOL Try not to get your stiches too wet, but a little soup won't hurt. Try to keep it clean and your scar may be less. GOOD LUCK and SORRY you had to have stitches!

Ouch! No it shouldn't hurt to take them out, there might be a little pulling of the lip but it wont hurt. After you eat just make sure to rinse mouth with salt water to keep area clean. Most of the time the lip doesn't scar, now if it is actually around the lip rather than in/on the lip try using some triple antibiotic ointment.

When I got stitches in my finger it was numb for a while. They make it that way so that the pain dies down before you can actually feel how much it hurts. It's absolutely normal.

It won't hurt and may even be numb. If you must have soup, use a spoon and clean your lip to avoid infection. Don't pick at the stitches and you should be fine.

I have no idea why your stitches are being taken out...but it should not hurt but a second like getting your ears pierced...soup will probably even feel good to your lips...to stop scaring just wear regular vasaline, works like a charm!

Shouldn't hurt when they take them out. If its in your lip there probably won't be a lot of scarring, and I don't think the soup will hurt.

It's no big deal - you can tough it out, I'm sure. Heck - I've removed my own stitches before when I couldn't get to the doctor right away.

they could be the stitches that dissolve. well if the wound is still open it might hurt its like any other cut that you could get. not much you can do for scarring, i've heard if you drink protein drinks it will speed up the process of healing tho
