Psalm 103:12...
As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
Suppose you are driving your car and you see an attractive person of the opposite sex walking down the street. You crane your neck to get a better look and run into an oncoming car. You have no time to repent of your sin (of lust). You die instantly...
Many Christians believe that if they have not asked for the forgiveness of ALL of their sins, they risk dying and going to hell. They are in a constant state of uneasiness. In the above scenario, they believe that the person killed would go to hell because of the "unforgiven" sin of lust leading up to the wreck. What kind of relationship with Christ does this way of thinking lead to? Fear? Endless guilt?
Why not accept the fact that when you are born again, ALL of your sins are forgiven in God's eyes. (Please read the verse above again.)

Rest in the assurance that Christ has forgiven you once and for all the moment you receive Him as your Lord and Savior.
Nurture your relationship with Him daily by asking Him for forgiveness of whatever sins you commit. But trust the fact that all of your sins (NOT just the ones you have committed in the past) have been removed as far as the east is from the west!
ENJOY your eternal relationship with Christ, your Advocate with the Father who constantly intercedes on our behalf.

The Apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians that "So we praise God for the wonderful kindness he has poured out on us because we belong to his dearly loved Son. He is so rich in kindness that he purchased our freedom through the blood of his Son, and our sins are forgiven. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding (Ephesians 1:6-8, NLT). This is referring to salvation where God has taken our sins and as the Psalmist says put them as far as the East is from the West (Psalm 102:12). This is the judicial forgiveness that God gives us upon receiving His Son Jesus Christ. All the past, present, and future sins are forgiven on a judicial basis meaning that we will not suffer eternal punishment for our sins.

I am a Catholic Christina and i enjoy my relationship with Christ as my Lord and savior very much. I also know that it is a dangerous delusion that some christians have that they need not repent and turn from mortal sin since they in presumption think that God will overlook their commitment to evil:He will not.
I do not live in fear or guilt but I follow Jesus advice to stay awake and be vigilant. I do not judge anyone 's heart but only assess the actions.

I do enjoy my relationship with Christ. And I am saddened by the number of Christian friends who honestly think they will be shot down the chute to Hell for having an argument with their sister over a sandwich, or something.
People need to be taught the basic realities of their beliefs as set forth in the Bible itself, not the "theology" that has been built up around it.

I love it. You are so right. Don't live in fear feeling you'll never be good enough. I went through that. I felt no matter how hard I'd try I'd never make it. I'd never be good enough. And on my own I'm not. It's through the blood of Jesus that we are cleansed and our sins are washed away. As far as the east to the west.God is love, He wants us with Him and Him in us. That was His purpose of creating us. He's not standing over us waiting to strike us dead if we mess up. He is our father, like our children, we teach them and correct them, but we love them, unconditionaly. Thank you for writing this

I do enjoy my relationship with Christ. I don't know about everyone else but I can never get enough of God and I can never get close enough to God. Realizing and accepting the first passage posted is a leap into that relationship. Making it a part of daily life is another leap. (one I'm still working on)
I know God created me imperfect and I know he expects me to continue being imperfect so I know better than to think that timing has to do with whether I get to Heaven or not.

Past is forgiven and wiped clean, yes, present and future is an open slate ready for us to make good our commitment to God and Jesus...
But for the above scenario? No....
However, if it is something that you do frequently without shame....then you will have to answer for it when you are judged...it is between you and God and Jesus how much that particular sin comes between you and them.

You're right, I've met people who are like that, but I'm not the case, I see Jesus as a dear friend, and God as my own father, someone who loves me more than anyone and will be willing to forgive my sins, so long as I try my best to live according to His word..

hey Kidd, what about OBEDIENCE? A major gig I got against fad christains is that they feel that all that has to be done is to turn to Christ.....blah blah blah .....do unto others ...and then just ask Christ to forgive you?....huh....there is alot more to it than that my friend....your perspective is almost Southern Baptist....again, I am grateful I am a Latter Day Saint. In the Book of Mormon it states in belief and testimony that if you question something, ask it of God and in His time, it will be revealed...and by the way...I don't go for that 'born again' crap either....please take no offense....you asked....I give you my opinion and my belief...

I do enjoy my relationship with Jesus. I know if there is unconfessed sin that I will still go to heaven. That is why we are to keep a short account of our sins. But I for sure I will be going to heaven.
