What made everybody dislike him all the sudden? I think Denny Hamlin is a really nice guy, I have met him and have pictures of him with my youngest daughter. You all like Stewart? But hate Hamlin? I just don't get it.(and I better not hear that he is a cry baby because, well we know why)

I don't understand either!!!! JEALOUS I guess!!!!! Denny Hamlin is an awesome driver definitely top 5 overall!!!!! He is nothing like Tony, he does not go around wrecking people!!!! (Petty sucks anyway) I don't think he whines as much as other drivers do? He is just very competitive and 2nd is not good enough!!!!! That's why he is here in Nascar!!!!!

He just has a case of the Sophomore Blues, or Sophomore Curse, as some put it. He hasn't changed that much, but there are many fans who's driver can't do anything wrong by their measure, therefore, someone else's driver who emotes on camera after an incident is a jerk.
Thank God I am a Stewart fan, and Denny is near the top of my list of second favorites. I can take my drivers warts and all, and if they err they err. All the drivers in NASCAR and all motorsports are colorful characters, because it is the nature of being a race driver. People shouldn't get so fired up by what they say in the heat of the moment, but look at what they actually do.
Denny doesn't have anything wrong with him that a win won't cure.

Holy moley, we do NOT all like Stewart first of all. For many of us that don't, we are starting to see a younger version of Tony developing in Denny. Last year he seemed more happy to be here and respectful of the veterans he raced. Now he seems like a spoiled kid that didn't get the cereal he wanted in the grocery store and threw a tantrum. He acts as if it's his track and you better make way for him because he's a big time driver in the chase. Well, when Kyle gets there next year, JGR will have assembled the perfect cast of talented drivers that are never happy. They will find ways to lose races and championships because of their lack of focus and teamwork, in my opinion. The incident with Kyle Petty was certainly the last straw for many fans that were on the fence about Denny. I don't know that it's hatred, but he is not as high on my list of favorite drivers either. Even at the beginning of the year I was saying he is one of the most talented drivers, which he still is, but not as much of a jerk as Stewart. Smoke has been too good of a mentor.

I like Denny Hamlin, I think he is a good driver. I have nothing against him. It is just when he gets aggressive in practice it gets annoying. It is only practice.

I do not hate Denny, he has had a bad yr..and he is major frustrated right now...but its part of racing and he needs to realize this, and clean up his attitude a bit and denny will be fine, he is young its just a part of going up as a race car driver. But he needs to get his temper in check real quick, its not going to help him on the track..He is young and he has to gain respect from the other drivers who have been there alot longer than he has..No I do not hate Denny I have met him several times he is a cool dude..

Still like Hamlin here & my mom is a Hamlin fan!!!
.....he just has had a rough couple of weeks and has been in the spot light so of course everyone has to talk & try to stir it up....and then there are the bashers who take it to another level when there is nothing there to bash!!! he's just the driver of the week people feel they need to be mad at.....

I don't hate him, but I think his head hasn't been right for a while. Time will tell whether or not he'll be another Tony.IMO, he's going through some growing pains.
He felt bad about what happened with Petty. A little penitence goes a long way.
Seems like a good guy most of the time.

I don't hate Denny.
In fact, he's my favorite driver; I'm not saying he's the best because he isn't but he is a good driver.
I hate when people complain about his complaining. Don't they know they're being just as annoying by doing that?
He's having a rough time in the Chase right now and I can understand if he complains. He has what it takes, he just hasn't had any real good luck lately.

I don't care what people say about Denny; he's still going to be my #2 driver, and probably will stay there for a LONG time. He's a normal person, and its not like other normal people don't get crappy with others when things are going extremely badly. They just need to lighten up on him.
