Yes I do have some experience with all of this. I did my own furniture. A foam roller is the thing to use. If you try to use a brush, you will get all of the nasty little lines in the furniture, and you do not want that. You want a nice smothe finnish. Have fun! I know I did, and my furniture looks grand!

I hope you didn't buy a foam roller. You need to prime it with a brush and follow the grain of the wood. Sand it before applying any finish coat and it will take 2 coats depending on the color you chose. Perhaps more if you are using a dark color, painting furniture is not as easy as everybody thinks. Good Luck

I did a dresser not too long ago and was given the same advice about the foam roller and brushes...it was great advice! The finish is really smooth and nice!!! He also recommended a very light sanding (followed by a good wipe down) between coats to really make it look nice and last longer. I took that advice, too and I'm really happy with the finished dresser.

Good luck!!!!

Yes he's right, you get a much nicer finish with a foam roller, it usually takes more coats but really turns out beautiful.

rollers go faster. I don't know about looking better. you'll have to use a foam brush for edging
