I am an atheist and I do respect John Paul 2. Although I disagreed with many of his positions, I do admire what he has accomplished in his lifetime.

He was a wonderful man and I have never doubted for a minute that he was the perfect man to be Pope and he will soon be a Saint as well. He was kind and compassionate to everyone in the world regardless of race or religion and that is what made him so perfect for the job!

would you believe a man on the street calling himself the 'holy father' ? if not, then why would you believe it from a guy in Rome? Didnt Jesus say not to call any person your father but he who is in heaven? I hate to tell you all this but John Paul II was a JEWISH FREEMASON. And denying the truth wont change a wit of it. Most everyone is quite duped and it is actually the royal family of england that controls the christian church. Ever wonder why the pope doesnt say a word to combat the horrors being endured by iraqi, lebanese, and palestinian christians under the brutal Zionists? Howbout when 40 million russian christians were murdered by the Bolshivik Jews? not a peep, and you still think these people follow Jesus ? How interesting if you do not care when they put themselves as gods ..

Yes, he was a great person, I think God found in him the perfect vessel for His word. He came to this world to spread God's message, a message of love and cooperation, we'll always remember him for that. May God have him in His glory.

Well, the Holy Spirit was with him, that's a sure bet. I was a story up from him and felt the effect of him entering the building without seeing him enter. Man, what a blast.

I do believe in God and I don't think any person aside from Christ who claims to be an earthly God figure is a "great man".

There will be many, MANY men who were "great" in man's eyes but whom God never knew:

Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

No.

Good points: Stood up to communism, stood up to organised crime.

Bad points: Failed to speak out against various acts of genocide and terrorism, did speak out against contraception, didn't take a stand against corruption in his own church.
