If she does, it will not be immediate! They don't retain memory like a dog does. After a hour or two being in the house she might be like "Oh yeah! I remember you now"! Being gone two months is a long time for a cat!

Just as the others have said, of course your best kitty friend will remember you! I've worried about the same thing but each time I'm away, my cat remembers me when I get back. She may act a little shy at first, and sniff you out but as soon as you talk to her and love on her, she'll probably be just fine! No worries!

Yes. I have a partime cat that hasn't been around for 5 months until just the other day and he still remembered me came to me let me pick him up pet him, and bring him in, he goes for months and months without coming home but he does eventually and he remembers everyone.

Yes, the cat will. Cats will never forget anything. She probably just wants someone esle to play with until you get home.

I'm sure she will. I've got the same fears going on, I just left my 6 month old kitten and I won't see her until Christmas break either!

you kitty has developed a fondness of humans and human company. Good Job!
She is following your mom in part, because your mom gives her attention. When you return home your kitty will revel in twice as many people to pet her.

yes . when my daughter left for college we would put the phone near our cat and our daughter would talk to him . not only would he respond but after he would always go to her room and sleep on her bed. i would expect yours will too.

I'm sure she will ..... in time. Your Mom has been the one feeding her, caressing her and filling the void in a very finicky animal. Don't worry about it! Time will tell.
