The majority of the people here are American and Christian.

Americans are known worldwide to be stupid and somehow arrogant at the same time.

Christians (the creationist fundy types) are known to be quite delusional and set their beliefs up so that no amount of proof will convince them out of their delusions and they also think that a Sky Daddy's son loves them and died for them.

We are also using an informal tool (the internet) to try to prove points to them. The internet is home to porn and conspiracy theories. It is not be trusted, even in open forums such at these in any circumstance. So why should anyone take anything serious?

What are we doing here if we can't convince anyone? Is this supposed be a colossal masochistic waste of time?

This question can apply to theists trying to convince atheists as well. "God" knows I've seen a lot of that too and not just over the internet. =P

because we are not taking anything you say serious. ;-)
that is why.

The same people who claim to hate America are the first to run to America at the first chance they get! Ever wonder why! think about it.

Although I understand your point of view, I don't agree with the stereotype that all Americans are arrogant and stupid and that all Christians are delusional. I am an American and a Christian, and I don't think I am stupid, arrogant, or delusional. You may argue about my intelligence and state of mind, but you cannot argue with the fact that stereotypes in many cases turn out to be faulty and are made up because of a racial, spiritual, economic, or regional bias.

Although I am not saying your opinion is false, I am not saying it's true, either. There is no way of proving that Americans are stupid other than IQ tests, which doesn't really say anything, since you don't have any statistics backing up your point. This can also be said for your arguement about Christians being delusional. If you have a bias against us, it is not wise to post it on the internet (as you said yourself) because not many people will agree with you other than atheists themselves.

Now, I don't make fun of you're lack of religious beliefs, so I don't think you should make fun of the religious beliefs that many people have. Even though I could, I don't call you stupid for your beliefs or make fun of you for your personal choices. If you want to call Christians delusional, we have every right to call you delusional. But I wouldn't do that, because in order to do that, you would have to have a personal bias. I don't have a bias against you or anyone else whose beliefs differ from mine. If you wish to post things like this, you have the right to do so. I just think you should have evidence backing up your statements instead of pointing fingers to those you think are stupid without a good reason.

I am American and live in America, but have lived overseas, and I believe that most Americans are stupid and arrogant. And as far as this R&S thing goes, yes, it is a colossal waste of time. But it passes the time at work.

"Americans are known worldwide to be stupid and somehow arrogant at the same time."

I think judging someone solely by their nationality is stupid and somewhat arrogant at the same time.
I also do not feel the need to call their God a "sky fairy" just because I do not believe in Him.

If you feel it is a waste of time, you are free to go. Since I have studied many religions and am capable of answering many questions on here objectively, I will be staying.

I don't think the entire world sees Americans as stupid and arrogant. Such generalizations prove a lack of education and fact verification.

Perhaps, as an Atheist, you are not trying to convince others there is no God, but you are trying to convince yourself.

I was under the assumption that Christians wanted us here. Almost all the questions I answer are asked of atheists. Why shouldn't I answer them? If no one here can convince anyone to change camps, can't we at least learn something from each other? I know that I've learned quite a bit since I've been here.

It's fun. It's also enlightening and it does show how others think. The world is home to porn and conspiracy theories and is not to be trusted. The Internet is just a tool that can be used for any purpose people can think of. That includes honest or questionable endeavors.

Yeah who are you kidding??? in fact what the hell are you even doing here at the R&S section??? You don't have any religion nor spirituality(well except the Buddhists maybe), so why are you wasting your time trying to convert those who fears judgement; us Christians??? lets just wait for doomsday and we will see who will be laughing

Perhaps, but if just one person realizes the truth (for them) as the result of something they read somewhere on the internet, then it wasn't a waste of time.
One mind enlightened is worth lighting all the candles in the world.

You're the most arrogant of all. Your delusuion is someone else's reality. You disrespect others; that makes you stupid, IMO.

SOME atheists whine about Christians trying to convert/convince them, so WHY are you doing the thing for which you criticize others of doing? Kind of hypocritical, don't you think?
