I want to buy rock by the cubic yard instead of by the ton and would like to know how many pounds is in a cubic yard

In general, rock weighs 100 lbs per cubic foot so a cubic yard weighs approximately 2700 pounds.

On cubic meter of crushed rock is approximately five metric tons.
