First of all this is too general of a question. BUT....
Those two things are NOT the same. Both are considered sins yes. In order to be forgiven of these sins you must repent. So remarrying a divorcee is acceptable through repentance and forgiveness. There is no marrying homosexuals because clearly there has been no repentance. You would not chose to marry another homosexual if in deed you have repented of this sin.

THE church does refuse. The church that Jesus established. The bible teaches that only those who's spouse has died or is the victim of sexual immorality has the right to remarry. God does not allow for divorce for just any reason, but, for the two reasons stated above. Mal 2:16- "For the Lord God of Israel says That He hates divorce, For it covers one's garment with violence," Says the Lord of hosts. "Therefore take heed to your spirit, That you do not deal treacherously."
See: Matthew 19:3-12, Luke 16:18, 1 Corinthians 7:10-17, (the word separate is the same as divorce), Romans 7:1-6,
and others.
What any church teaches is not as important by far as what is revealed in God's only revelation, The Bible.
Generally, the married should not divorce and homosexuals should cease their sinful activity and chose to obey God as we all must.

Gays are not Christians. Why would they want to get married in a church? Let them find one of those churches who accept homosexuals as members....it wouldn't make any difference anyway. Their union is not blessed by God.
I do agree with you on divorced people...there is only one reason for divorce accepted by the early church and that was adultery. I feel for those who must leave their spouse for other reasons, such as abuse but it is better to stay alone than violate God's word.
Of course, if you got divorced before you knew God, I do believe most churches will accept it if you want to get married before God to someone else. This is just my humble opinion and not a scripture to back it up..

We do not allow a person divorced other than for the cause of fornication/adultery or the leaving of an unbeliever to be remarried in the church. You ask without doing research first. Is that a good thing for you to do><

Most pastors do refuse to marry divorcees. Only your lukewarm churches marry divorced couples. And I think because of this the divorce rate among Christians has increased.

cmepnu...although it hurts me to tell you this...your logic is that of a blithering idiot!
There is simply no connection between the two arguments. You write, "If Christians do not follow this then this is PROOF they really dont believe it to be the absolute Divine word of GOD." The question is...if Christians do not follow WHAT?

Alot of them do forbid it. But given that God tolerated such things in the Old Testament, while condemning homosexuals to death (Leviticus) it is clear that remarriage after divorce is no where near the degree of sin that homosexuality is.

Since most have divorced themselves from God because of the chase for money, they uphold whatever they want to uphold. That is why you don't see the chastisement for divorce. It's too profitable.
You bring out a good point.
Keep an equal set of weights and balances....a concept few realize.

Because they are Christians who are male and female who made a mistake and asked Gods forgiveness. There has always been divorce and remarriage, and God doesn't like it, but He never destroyed two cities because of it. He never called it an abomination either.

Thankfully the Church doesnt take up weddings but the federal government does. I would hate to be married to someone I absolutly despise and not be able to divorce them for someone much better for me
