When you think of Australia do you imagine us riding to school in kangaroo's or having just normal big city's? trust me most australians have not even seen a kangaroo or a koala!
Australia is basicly the same as america, we get all the stuff they have, and we live in city's,house not under tree's in the bush. Oh and also we don't have acents, Everyone else does! But what do u think australia's like?

I truly loved Australia and it is the place I would most like to emigrate to. The diversity of the country is amazing. I've been lucky enough to visit Uluru, Cairns, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. I was stunned by the sheer beauty and vastness of the landscapes both outback and city. There is so much to do and I found the cities to be so clean.
I found the Australians we met to be fun loving, full of vitality and very proud of their country. Quite rightly so too!
My favourite memories so far from my trip was seeing Sydney Opera house for the first time as we were flying into Sydney to land and doing the "sounds of silence dinner" at Uluru as the sun set...fantastic. Also doing the Outer Barrier reef trip on quicksilver was a great experience too!
Also loved the wild life we got to see whilst out there. Particularly enjoyed the late Steve Irwins Zoo as it was so clean and well kept. Loved the Koalas and the Kangaroos!
We hope to emigrate to Australia (Queensland or western Australia within the next two years)

I know what Australia is like. I lived there for over 50 years,. As I got older I felt more and more intimidated by young Aboriginese of both sexes, Especially when travelling on suburban trains and all the train windows have been scratched whith graffitee..And at railway stations , I would never travel on the trains at night.
Since drink driving laws came into effect, some years ago, all the old style pubs have gone, to be replaced by Trendy boutique bars that have to have a bouncer gaurding the entrance,,, Scarry.
Since leaving , I now see Australia via ABC Asia pacific so I can well understand your question,, The Australian bush is beautiful and so is life in country towns, but only tourists see it.
My last years there wher spent in Perth

OI!! tessa .. we DON'T ALL live in cities MOST may .. but NOT ALL... and BY GOD we do have accents .. you can even hear it vary from state to state a little .. .... Queenslanders talk funny as do Westralians and Southstralians ..

and I have NO idea where abouts YOU grew up or if you even left the block that you live on but MOST aussies have seen a kangaroo ..

gotta ask , you have to be young , right ?

EDIT Note To D. :) Australia actually has the world's largest population of wild camels .. SADLY the buggars are damaging the terrain and competing with the native fauna for food. The Camels came here in the 1800's with the Afghan traders that helped to open the interior of AU.

When visiting Australia I had to go to the zoo to see a Kangaroo. Was surprised to learn that there is a lot of camels about. Went in December a few years ago and because of the rain and cool weather had to buy a fleece.
Overall enjoyed my visit. Have a nice day from Up above.

I think of Australia, my home. I live in Australia and I think its the best place to live. You got nice places to visit such as the beach (i love the beach) Bondi Beach is good, Nice tourist attractions, nice people, lovely people, good style (Billabong, Roxy, Quicksilver....) There are unique animals such as the platypus, dingo, kangaroo ...., You have different kinds of people there from all over the world!!!! We have lovely coral at Queensland and in Northern Territory in Alice Springs there is a massavie rock! Called Ularu! You gotta love that!

I've been here nearly 60 years and I like the place. Some of my mates have been whingeing about too many races of people coming here but I think the land will shape them, not the other way around. There are some massive challenges ahead of Australia including how we define ourselves but I'm mildly optimistic.

I imagine big citys, beaches, sun, people who like to over use the sound of o and a. alligators, palm trees, goofy people, the vines, traffic, driving on the wrong side of the road. A place I wish I lived.
