My neighbor found a litter of stray kittens under her house. 1 disapeared for about a weak. When it made it back it was bleeding & week. It seems ok now(2 weeks later) except its but hole is swollen & tends to lightly leak. I just found out about the kitten today & brought it home. I plan on taking it to the vet Mon. Any suggestions that may help until then would be great.

I would love to take her to the vet today. unfortunatly, I can not find a vet open on the weekend. Apparently animals in Arkansas are not supposed to get sick or hurt on the weekends.

The best that you can do for the kitten until you get it to a vet is to monitor its behavior and how it reacts to certain variables in its enviroment. Also take notice of how it reacts to you. If it allows you near it with obvious interest, try and check the anus for more leaking and swelling. Record what you observe, and be sure to include where you found him, what his symptoms (if any) have been since before you brought him, and obvious signs of illness and disease, i.e. throwing up, runny nose, cloudy eyes, discharge from the eyes, and bleeding.

I would take it to the vet sooner if I were you. A kitten is like a baby, its immune system is very weak and underdeveloped and it may not last until monday, either that or it will catch an infection if it hasnt already got one, meaning higher vets bills and more trauma for the kitten. It may also have problems that if are not dealt with soonr can impact on the kitten forever, it may for example if an infection is left to spread, need to have legs amputated.

Many vets have emergency all out teams, and if not the rspca or pdsa if you live in the UK, try looking up charitable animal organisations and seeing if they will look at the kitten for you.

You are so doing the right thing, taking the kitty to the vet. In the meantime, just keep the kitty comfy. Not much you can do but you can do that for now. You might get a little bit of cloth, wet it with plain water, then put some plain hydrogen peroxide on it, and just kind of hold it against the back end of the kitty while she's in your lap. That would act as a disinfectant and it might be comforting to the kitty.

I just took my kittie to the vet today with a similar problem. He gave her a dropperful of Imodium (yes, Imodium) and then some worm medicine. He washed off her little bottom with warm water, then applied some ointment to relieve the swelling and soothe the irritation. He said the opintment would also prevent her from possibly licking itself and irritating it more. So try some baby diarrhea medicine, and vaseline or something, till you can get it to the vet. This problem is probably unrelated to the dog bite if it is otherwise okay.

keeping the wound clean is all you can do until you get the kitten medical attention. It is abcessed probably now and will need to be cleaned and put on antibiotics and possibly stay at the vet for a few days

Could be worms or infection inside. Will she make it til Monday? Probably. She sure is lucky to have found you! Give her lots of water and kitten food or warm milk(not much). And keep loving her....that's the most important medicine...good ol' luv and care!

If it was bitten by a dog, it could be in serious trouble if it punctured something inside, like the colon or something. Get it to a doc as soon as possible because it is very sick.

Get to a veterinarian now. This could lead to a serious infection which will result in death if not properly medicated and maybe even stitched.
