i agree that 850 cal. is too drastic. There is a healthy way to get healthy and that is to change your lifestyle all together. And your ultimate goal should not be to loose weight, you should aim to become a healthier person. You will look better, feel better, and be healthier for life if you do.

850 calories a day is too low. The lowest you should go is around 1200. When you go below that, your metabolism actually slows down. Your body will react to these low calories like you are starving.
It will be all that more difficult to lose wt.
Exercising 3 times a day? Is that walking or vigorously working out?
Set realistic goals (Otherwise you are setting yourself up for failure)
----working out 20-40 mins. per day everyday is sufficient for wt. loss.
I also do not think that there is anything wrong with walking 15 mins. a few times during the day.
It's more important WHAT you eat then the calories. I know someone who probably eats 1200 calories a day and is think---but terribly unhealthy because she eats junkfood ALL DAY.
Increase your intake of vegetables, fruits, whole grains and drink at least 64oz of water a day. Switch from red meat to fish or chicken. If you MUST have your favorite junk food, you still can (just not everyday). Limit yourself to a treat once a week.
Diets don't work. You have to change your lifestyle. It took you THIS long to become the way you are, it will take you some time to get to where you want.
At 850 calories and exercising 3 times a day---you will lose wt., but you will feel like crap. Your energy level will be down, you'll feel weak.
If you sweat a lot during a workout, be sure to replenish the lost electrolytes with a small gatorade or take supplements. Otherwise, you will experience some really uncomfortable cramps.
GOOD LUCK

NO! I recommend cutting it down to about 1500 or 1200 but no less or else your body will go into starvation mode and your body will hold onto as much fat as it can. So that means it will be harder for you to lose weight. Just go do about 60 minutes of cardio everyday or at lest 5 days a week. Eat healthy, drink water, and never eat after 6 at night. You should begin to see and feel the results in about 2 to 3 weeks. The thing is keep it up and never work out for more than 60 minutes. Good luck!! =)

850 calories a day AND exercising 3 times per day?
Ain't gonna work. End of story.
What kind of excercise? Couldn't be aerobic or you wouldn't have the strength to use the keyboard. Sounds like your probably doing minimal stuff 3x per day and miscounting your calories. How many from fat? Better check.
Crash diets and matching excercise programs have a higher fail rate than new releases from Abba.
Calm down. Excercise 1x or 2x at the most per day for about 30 to 45 min. per session. If you do the 2x per day thing, make it one session of aerobics (get ready to sweat) and one session of weight training (get ready to hurt). Sculpt your body, don't punish it.
Good luck.
Don't count calories, just stop eating junk. Trust me.

I did this for 3 weeks. I ate around 850 a day, sometime more or less. After I was done, I lost 5 pounds. Then I ate normally, and gained it all back. So...don't do this. It's not fun, and your body will come back for revenge.

ohh wow that is toooooo much..i hpe thatdoes not bring up a "yo yo diet"..cuz..your doing it toooo fast...n eway..since you are 5 '5, you have a pretty good height and 145 is not "fat" that is pretty thin wieght for your height..i guess if you do wanna slilm down..ten pounds should be your limit...but NOT that fast..try to decrease your calorie intake by 300 each day rather than 850..cuz lets say for instance a regular calorie intake every day is 1600.that means your pro bably going to be starving your self if you only eat about 800-1000 cal ..ohhhh that is just too much..and plus your going to be EXCERIISING...dont kill yourself..my excercise alone, you can loose weight..without dicreasing your a verage calorie intake..take my word..and do not kill yourself...

oh my, that would be really bad.
how you loose weight is getting your metabolizim working fast. that way your food burns faster and it doesnt sit and store in your body.
so its best to eat small portions every 3-4 hrs.
its best to eat nuts and gains in the morning
veggies mid day
and fruit at night
if you eat fruit for breakfast your body will continue to crave sugar throughout the day.
but make sure you eat enough so your body has enough energy to do work outs.
also, dont eat about 1-2hrs after a work out. your body will go into a certain mode that it will be craving fat and other things and if you put anything into your body it will hold onto it because its in "shock" for your work out.
drink lotsa water too : )
good luck and i hope this helped

850 calories a day is too drastic. You need to make permanent lifestyle changes that will enable you to lose weight slowly and sensibly without starving yourself and to maintain your desirable weight.

at such a low caloric intake you will lose slightly less muscle than you do fat. extreme low calorie diets will surely mess up your metabolic rate for quite some time.
if you chose to starve yourself it is very likely that this time next year you will be 20 lbs heavier than you are now and with a greater percentage of body fat.
