Could be many different things, lrt's explore, Does the pain feel like it is running across your collar bone? Does the pain radiant in a way that if you take your hand and cup the side that hurt it covers the base and back side of your head?

Anyway you may have a pinched nerve or depending on age, accidents or bone density you could have a rupture.

Please post answer to these on your question, but heres the scoop. Predicated on what it is there are several options you can take. Go to your regular doctor and tell them what's going on,they may do an x-ray and then call for an MRI. Now the MRI is like a x-ray, but it shows all the tissue and more detail. If you weird out in close spaces tell them you want an open MRI, that's one where they don't slip you in atube, but you just lay down on the tble anda big round thing is about a foot over your head, but everything else is open. Don't worry if you weird out as abut 20% of people do.

Now here is the important thing, the doctor may want you to just have therapy. If they do you can expect heat, masage, pulling on your head and an electrical pulse. The deals called a tinge unit and it send electrical shocks to the area which n turn loosen the muscle, but its not like a cattle prod. It the doc can get ahold of the german unit that shocks, maages and pulls it is good. Agter a couple of weeks if you are not better then I suggest you go to a pain managemet clinic that has a dipolmate on staff. They may want you to go to asurgeon, but they normally only see one thing and that is an operation and you may not need it. I was about to get a neck and lumber fusion until this other doctor told me that once they operate you can not go back, so try the pain management first.

What they will do is nerve blocks, which may ony last three months on the first one, then six to seven months on the second ne and then by the third one you may never have any more pain or be able to control it with meds.

If you live in a small town call around untill you find what I have suggested. The prodcedure takes about ten to twenty minutes and then you go home, so if someone drives you it's not like being out from surgery for weeks.

Let's hope it's a pinched nerve from dancing too close to your main sqeeze, hopethis will help. Sound like what I had when I got crushed on the job. started out like a knife poking my neck and then got to the point i couldn't move it without super pain and not being able to sleep due to the pain. Please excuse the typos. take care.

The only time for an operation is if the disc is so far gone ond sitting onthe nerve. Use your own bone as they say doner bone only works 28% of the time.

It sounds like you just pulled a muscle or put something out of whack. Take some Ibuprofen, it should make you feel better. If it is a muscle, be prepared for it to get worse before it gets better. I have had many experiences from 'cracking' my neck (like any other nuckle) when I pull a muscle and cannot really have full motion. It does take a few days, but it will go away. It was probably laying in your bath with your neck posed in a un-natural way. No biggie, just take some Ibuprofen and give it some time

Get those sometimes... It's a tension headache.. sometimes they are so bad. Well what I found was advil or any other otc paid med doesn't help. But what i do is..

Take 3 liquid gel advil
but the most important thing is putting ice on my neck. Ice in a plastic ziplock back wrapped in a towel. then just lay on it for about 30 minutes and it'll feel better.

Sounds like your muscles are tense in that area. Rub your neck and shoulders, take a hot back to relax yourself. You can buy Eucalyptus to put in your bath to help with the muscles.

Sprained neck, you need manual adjustment and x-ray can show. The nerve at the cervical spine are compressed that is why your shoulder is painful.

You need to remove the restrictions to relieve the pain. rubbing shoulder wont help

shoulder rotations (back up forward down in wide circles) like you're rowing a boat with your shoulders, then do it the oposite direction for a few minutes, this will smooth out all the kinks in your shoulders. then wide and tense neck rotations. look down and hold your hands on the back ofyour head and gently press your head down till you feel the strech go down your back.
