There's also the "Hidden Christian theory" expounded upon by some theologians. (I know this won't be pretty to the hardliners, so you might want to avert your eyes).
It goes something like this i believe:
1.) Christ is indeed the Way, the Truth, and the Light.
2.) However, passing through His Way does not necessitate belief in him - it simply means trying to make it through life as he would.
IE: God sent his Son to redeem (the metaphysical act) but also a practical matter of providing a role model.
3.) So Random Person X in a place that has never heard of Christianity lives a moral upstanding life to the best of his ability.
Result: "Hi Random Person X, and welcome home."
Random Person X was a "Hidden Christian," judged on the basis of the content of his/her actions instead of the intellectual wetware in his/her head.
And yes, under the "Hidden Christian" theory - Atheists get to come along for the ride too.
"Hey...you didn't believe and you still did the right thing huh? Grab a seat..."
So if that's the case why have religion?
The answer from this viewpoint follows the logic of CS Lewis: Religion is there for those who need it.
Maybe some could follow the Way of their own accord, and maybe some folks needed a little help along the way.
I know the immediate objection would be "But the Atheist didn't believe! And yet we know some Christians will end up in Hell.'
The counteargument i've read was something to the effect of "But was it ever really about belief? Wasn't it more about the content of your actions? And didn't Christ say something to the effect that there will be who say "Lord I know you" and he'll say something to the effect "I know you not." (Those who have been False with God, affiliating and branding themselves as Christian but not doing the follow through/hardwork). And there are those who will ask "When the heck did I ever help you? I didn't even believe." And Christ will give that answer, "Visit the sick, Helped the Poor, Fed the Starving - that was all me."
Yeah...well...all of you can make of that as you will. After all, its only a theory.

Jesus is the way the truth and the light. Not everyone goes to heaven, only those who believe.

You are correct. Even Jesus stated He came to save the Jews. It is a shame they are too blind to see that Jesus is the Messiah they were looking for. Those (Jews) that eventually do accept Jesus as Savior are saved. The rest are as lost as all the other "non-christian" folks.

The Bible, including the Old Testament, says that the just shall live by faith.
And Jesus said to Jews,
23 . . . "You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. 24 I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am the one I claim to be, you will indeed die in your sins."
So I will let Jesus do the talking. He has it right, every time.
Why don't the Jews believe God when He says something?
27Isaiah cries out concerning Israel:
"Though the number of the Israelites be like the sand by the sea,
only the remnant will be saved.
28For the Lord will carry out
his sentence on earth with speed and finality." (Isaiah 10)
29It is just as Isaiah said previously:
"Unless the Lord Almighty
had left us descendants,
we would have become like Sodom,
we would have been like Gomorrah." ( Isaiah 1)
and:
"See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes men to stumble
and a rock that makes them fall,
and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame."
(Isaiah 8)
(Romans 9)

Of course.
All those who attained resurrection before Jesus' descent to earth: For instance Abraham.
Non Jew's can also attain liberation so long as they follow Jesus' teachings (the tenets of which are found in other faiths).

The humorous part of the above question is the realization that the Lord (YHWH, Jehovah) was the Lord Jesus Christ.

No one can get to heaven any other way...BUT through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Oh, please, you can't expect any kind of "answer" to that!
This is just a way to get the Jews and Christians going at each other, isn't it?
Clever, these atheists!
