My boyfriend and I broke up mutually last week. No arguments; we parted as friends. The next day he has a new girlfriend. I'm not jealous or anything, I just feel a little worthless/rejected because it 'was' the next day. Even though it was a mutual break-up, am I allowed to be slightly ticked off or is that too immature? I mean, I would've been fine with it if he started dating her like a week or two later, but we're talking about the next day here.

I'm glad we're still friends, too. He's a petty awesome guy despite everything. The reason we broke up was because I thought he was too busy for me. He didn't really want to break up at first but then he realized I like to do stuff rather than sit at home and be like 'yea, I have a boyfriend'. So, I guess his new gf doesn't care if he's busy.

You could treat yourself to a tantrum or have a full-on fit if you wanted to....that was a bit abrupt, but the thing is,what's done is done, and time on the outside of the relationship isn't accountable to anyone except to those who hold it dear. This means, your sentiments are understandable, but it's not much more than an interestng footnote in your ever-evolving life, so don't let it get you down.

I can understand why you would feel like that. I would too. But yous arent together anymore. Obviously he already had this girl in his mind when he was with you 4 them 2 be going out the day after the break up. You should be greatful that you remainded friends after you break up. Thats pretty rare to happen.

Yes you can be upset with him. Because he wasn't honest with you. If he had another girlfriend the next day, he already had her waiting in the wings for your breakup so he could start dating her. What was your reason for wanting to break up? Was he acting differently? Less attentive, more distant? He was probably doing this on purpose so you'd want to leave. It is not immature to be mad; he manipulated you and if I were you I would not want o be his friend.

Yeah, you have the right to be ticked off. I mean, like you said, it was only the next day.

If it bothers you, it bothers you. Its not up to all of us to tell you it is okay to be hurt -even if your breakup was mutual, it is hard to see your ex with someone else, especially so soon. If you want to be upset, be upset with him.
