Well this is all new to me, but I suppose I have to take the leap sometime. I was raised a Christian, spent 32 years as an atheist, and on September 25, I became a Christian again.

It all depends on circumstance.
If I'm with my uber-conservative greek-orthodox bible-bearing members of the gideons relatives, I'm hardly about to say I'm anything but the Catholic they believe me to be. Among my friends and, to a lesser extent, my parents, I'm happy to reveal my less-conventional approach to religion.
Mostly fear motivates this, I think... or perhaps a desire not to be ranted at. I don't want to be "saved," therefore I keep my trap shut when need be, or say the literal truth ("I was confirmed into the Catholic Church"). I try not to talk about my own religious beliefs without being asked, though I slip up occasionally.
My religious beliefs are a blend of LaVeyan satanism and Spiritualism-- that is, I basically live by the Satanic Rules of the Earth and all that (I did before I knew what they were, really) but have an unyielding belief in an afterlife more similar to those I've seen described by spiritualists. I'm basically anti-idiocy and pro-soul, if that makes any sense.

I am a Hellenic Polytheist.
Most of the time religion does not come up in casual conversation for me. I do not talk about religion without being asked about it, but I do not lie about it either.
People are often surprised when they find out I'm not Christian (usually because they ask me what church I go to) and say something like "You're so normal! Why are you Pagan?"

Yes I'm comfortable with it :]
if asked I've no hesitation in saying it
and, as I've had to a few times, explaining the key points of *my* personal path as to give the asker better understanding.
I usually won't just bring it up unless a discussion veers that way, in which case, I don't feel obligated to be asked before telling.
I wouldn't lie about it. There's no honor in claiming faith in something but then denying it in your own words and actions w/ other people.
&& I'm Wiccan :]
Blessed be.

I am very comfortable stating my religion, when I'm asked. I figure if a person didn't want to know, they wouldn't have asked. I am a pagan and a practicing witch. I do not consider myself wiccan because I practice many forms of magick and try to keep my religion and practice as separate as possible under the circumstances. I also think the wiccan "harm none" law is full of crap and here is the reason: Even if you're a vegetarian you can't even eat without killing the plant, when you breathe, you kill thousands of microbes, bacteria, ect.
I consider myself a warrior. I fight for what I believe in and have a strong sense of justice. Hope this helps :)

I usually only voice my beliefs if it comes up. Otherwise, and sadly, people judge. But if someone asks, I'm honest, there's no reason for them to think I'm someone I'm not.
I don't really claim any classification of a religion. I just believe there is some sort of supreme being(s) that looks over us.

I am just a Christian as we were called first in Antiock. My belief is the teaching in the New Testament. I come out readily and say I am a member of Christ's body / church / kingdom that began on the first Pentecost after the death of Jesus. I am not ashamed of Jesus and I do not use any denominational name to call myself. I am just a Christian, nothing more or less.
I often bring it up in conversations and do not wait for someone else. I even speak to strangers about it any time I get a chance.
Why should I lie about my Saviour? No, I am happy to be His.

i'm an eclectic wiccan and no i do not tell everyone who asks me in person. actually not one person at my work knows i'm wiccan...and for good reason. i've found there's a lot of ignorance and close-mindedness when it comes to the religion topic. usually when someone comes out and asked "what religion are you?" it can be seen as intrusive and judgmental. i always evaluate the person before i choose to tell them about my beliefs. if i can tell that someone is being genuinely curious about my religion and doesn't mean to convert me or judge me, then i'm comfortable with expressing myself. my family and friends know i'm wiccan because i care for them and trust them and i know they wont think of me less because i'm not christian. in fact at first my mom was really disappointed and upset with my "coming out of the broom closet," but over time i've given her materials to read and ease her mind, and for the past few years she's been content with my beliefs...and even agrees with me on some things!

I was just thinking about this the other day. I am an atheist and a teacher in a public school in fairly conservative district....imagine how much bruhaha would occur if I publicly stated my religion or lack of. If I was a Christian, I wouldn't have that fear.

No religion, I'm an atheist.
When I'm asked I have no problem stating it.
I don't mention it unless there is a general discussion about religion and then I'll state it in conjunction to the discussion.
I have no reason to be ashamed of it therefore I have no reason to lie about it.

I am not shy about stating my belief at all. Everybody I work with know I am a Christian and that I spend a lot of time at church and church activities. I do not preach to my co-workers but at times I am a source of information about Christianity, the Bible and such. I think it is great I am known as the "Church going dude" at work. I wouldn't have it any other way.
