How does a 31 yo college man (sad story, plz don't ask) who hasn't dated since 1998, ask a @20 yo woman on a date?
Also, I guess you could say that I was burned by my past relation beyond your belief, how do I know the next woman will be the one I spend my life with?

i could ask the same --- how does a 54 year old that has not dated since 1972 ask any lady on a date???
just talk to her --- her body language will give you an idea if she is interested --- then ask her
i went online and met a lady that i never want to be without ---- there is some graffitti that may help --- learn to love like you have never been hurt before ---- we have to make ourselves vulnerable to be able to truly experience the joy of love and caring --- best wishes

you cant worry about being burned you just have to jump back in and swim just ask her for her phone number start from there give yourself a chance to be loved even it it does not work out there a chance if you dont try then you are depriving yourself of many things love laughter dancing caring companionship, the list goes on. i did not date for 6yrs after a bad relationship it was the hardest thing to do was to have a relationship i was scared of having sex again did not know if i knew what to do the guy that i am with now is the guy i started dating we are together still he did not believe me when i told him i had not had sex with anyone for 6yrs. i was 28yrs old so have confidence and go for it no matter what the risk are because it worth the chance good luck

Currently in the same boat, single 30 year old student looking for someone special. Dont look for one person in the light of spending the rest of your life with them, my ex was a s**t and I seriously thought we would be together forever so now I just try to concentrate on being happy and if love turns up all the better.
As for the girl just ask her out on a casual date and see how well you both get on together. Take it from there.

Just put yourself out there. Its worth a shot to try dating. Dont let the past define who you are today. Start over positive with no expectations. You may meet the love of your life.
