I'm sure he will be alittle nervous..He know he has to make this race, and he has to qualify on time...Hey, he is a great driver very determined...He is going to try what ever it takes to get in this race...He know he is a great driver and this is just another race..but its a different type of race, he will be totally focused....Its also a nervous race for me I saw him race many times in f1 when I was living in Europe.. I hope he does well, and makes the race.

Douglas he will be nervous. 1. He will be in his 1st qualifying attempt and wont want to mess up and wreck and 2. Still will be trying to go flat out to make the race and prove he belongs.---The gut will be churning and the butterflies swarming in his stomach as well.----I drive a Sportsman Class Stock Car on 2 different High Banked ovals in my State 3/8 miler and a 1/2 miler. My stomach gets tight everytime I qualify when ALL THE EYES ARE ON YOU AND YOU ALONE. Been doing it for 30 years and it hasnt changed!!!!!

I'm sure he will be. There is a big difference in this type of racing as apposed to what he has done in the past.

On another open wheel to NASCAR note:

I also saw that Scott Speed from F1 will be racing ARCA for a full season next year with his eye on NEXTEL in 09.

He shouldn't be OVERLY nervous. He already has many practice sessions under his belt (including the COT test at Talladega), as well as a truck practices and a truck race, in addition to the truck race tomorrow (provided he makes it, which he should).

He seemed pretty sure of himself after 2nd practice earlier today.

Wouldn't you be? Especially since it is his first qualifying?
