I go to my doctor and trust her completely even though medical research follows the scientific method.
I trust that when I go on a plane it won't crash even though aeronautical science follows the scientific method.
I trust that almost every single technology I use will work correctly because all the research that allows for it to work follows the scientific method.

Except when it comes to evolution, the big bang and the age of the earth for some unexplainable reason I suddenly stop trusting science right then and there.

It's like when I see flaws in the evidence for evolution like that one fake hominid fossil I completely reject the whole theory. But when medical science does the same thing like when a pharmaceutical company recalls a certain medication for health reasons, I still will trust my doctors and the medicine they administer afterwards and I don't start denying medical science.

You aren't. Your relationship with God is based on Faith.....you know in your heart and that by passes science. You know who your creator is just like he knows who his children are......You don't have to have all the answers, you don't have to analyze it all....you just have to have faith and believe.

It's good that you're asking that, that you realize something is wrong. But why do you believe that those other things contradict your faith? You might think that some of them contradict the literal stories of Creation in the Bible (though I'm not sure that they all do..), but then those contradict themselves/each other as well, so that's nothing new. I read something somewhere... What was it.. ? "The Big Bang, if there was a Big Bang", would have required an infinite amount of energy applied to an infinite amount of matter in an infinitely small space. God only knows how that could happen!"

I don't think you're a hypocrite. God goes beyond all the science in the world. Notice, if you believe God to be all that He says He is in the Bible, then you know He is the Creator. He made science, it didn't just show up on its own. I don't think that anything that He created for this world can define Him. Only He can define who He is. So, yeah, science does explain a lot of things, but they explain things of this world. God is not of this world, He is above this world and always will be. This doesn't make you a hypocrite and you're not alone. I don't believe in evolution or the Big Bang theory- notice, this is just a theory. Your skepticism is probably just a sign of how deep your faith and trust in God goes :)

Are you seriously asking this question? I'm not sure. If so, you are probably confused because you've been told (by Evolutionist propagandists): (1) Evolution is science &/or Evolution is Origins science (2) Operational science (e.g. Medical science) is science, (3) therefore Operational science = Origins science. Do you see the flawed thinking there? Even though statement (2) is true, (1) is not. If one part of the equation is untrue, it makes the conclusion untrue. Not only isn't Evolution science, but even if it was, it's not the same as Operational science.

Evolution is a worldview, based on a naturalistic or materialistic philosophy; a speculation & a myth that employs the terminology of science as an attempt at legitimizing itself.

Here's an article that I think would help you to clear up this confusion probably better than I did above: http://www.answersingenesis.org/articles/ee/what-is-science.

May the Holy Spirit use these facts to lead you unto truth & comfort, in Jesus' name. Amen.

True science is observable and testable---evolution theory has neither one and is just a lot of made up stories, guesswork and some downright fraud and lies in the past. It's merely a belief system that everything came into being by itself and evolved into higher life forms with no creator but there's no true scientific evidence that this is possible. Problem is, there's no real evidence for it, just lots of imagination. Most other real scientific disciplines are trustworthy based on sound, scientific testing and discipline. If a person corrects their mistake, they can be forgiven but if a person keeps going down the wrong path, it's best to be wary of their point of view.

Hm...maybe your religion brainwashed you? You're not too much of a hypocrite...you just don't trust evolutionary science, geology, and astronomy...BUT to ask you this...do you believe there are supernova, black holes, and other galaxies out there? Or do you believe that volcanoes are made from pressure in the Earth, or continental drift? What about micro-evolution, which, admittedly, helped medical science out...If you trust all those but not evolution, Big Bang, or the age of the Earth, I would think that you are brainwashed into rejecting them, either because you do not want to be proved wrong in your faith, or that some other party has done it. But that's it in my opinion...hope this helps and best of luck!! ^_^

You're not only a hypocrite, you're acting as a Christian when you aren't, and you are generalising about us. Not all Christians don't accept science facts.

I LOVE the theory of the big bang. It makes a lot of sense to me. As for evolution, I don't have a problem with it.

The Bible isn't a history or science handbook. It doesn't tell us how God created earth, just that he did.

Edit: It seems people are believing you. I hope you feel really bad about the false image you are trying to convey. Pretending to be fundy if you aren't isn't cool.

it is because science as a whole has no interest in convincing you that it's correct, because those who understand it can see that it is so, and this is enough for them, scientists are not yet in the habit of priests, who regularly manipulate people's emotions so that they follow them. science contains little truths, truths with a small 't', which are not important for your daily life or your sense of comfort with the universe. so you are free, for the most part, to ignore science and believe in fantasies instead. but when you get sick, you still demand your pills don't you. science is not a person, you can't be made to feel guilty about taking it for granted and being ungrateful for its products... so the wheel turns.

Religious belief is something personal and it is attached psychologically to our self-image. So when a truth comes along that threatens it (our belief system), we tend to automatically discredit it w/o giving it any real thought or analysis.

I wouldn't say you are a hypocrite. This is something that happens to every thinking person in the world. The fact that you recognize it is a very good beginning in weeding it out of your life.

Belief in evolution doesn't disqualify you from being a Christian, either. All my Christian friends, like me, have no problem believing in God, following Jesus and still understanding that evolution is a reality.

If you truly knew God you would not doubt science. Science can never disprove God, science does not/ cannot contradict God.

All knowledge is His knowledge. Do not doubt the greatness of God. He is not the Bible and not a religion, He is greater than all.

If God loves, why is it that Churches only love their members?

Stop being so superstitious and relax, He is with you always, even in doubt. Your knowing right from wrong is God's knowledge. If you feel something is wrong, He is telling you it's wrong. The truth of God is within.

Certainly making the godless move to evolution is quite a bit more hazardous than to the others which you mentioned. A loving God would not build death into a perfect creation, and in fact he did not. Death came into the world as result of man's action against God, Genesis 2:17.
