I've noticed that a lot. Athiests and Pagans especially, even if they haven't said one remotely abusive thing and answered a question honestly and completely, always seem to have a lot of thumbs-down.
Which brings me to another question - do you judge whether or not someone is a good person by what they believe in? Would you deny yourself a wonderful friendship just because someone doesn't practice exactly what you do?
I'm Pagan. It's my goal in life to constantly better myself and the world around me. I have never hurt anyone, and I certainly have never been negative toward anyone based on their faith. What you practice is fine with me, and I'm glad it works for you.

It seems kind of hypocritical to me. It was my understanding that most religions try to teach tolerance and acceptance. And in the religious community, it's really rare to actually see people like that.

That, unfortunately appears to be the name of the game when it comes to the religious fanatics. No matter how politely, or calmly, or intelligently, or non-judgementally an atheist merely expresses his perspective on this particular topic, it make 'em bristle with antagonism and they punch that thumbsdown button. LOL They're probably fretting with frustation that they can only do it one time.

No, I even give some thumbs up to people I really don't like if their answer is good...and I give thumbs down to people that I like if their answers are not good. I base it off of: 1.) If it's a honest answer, 2.) How much religious dogma is in it, and 3.) How much venom is in the answer. If they can pass all three with relatively decent scores, they get a thumbs up...if not, thumbs down....that's how I roll....hope this helps!! ^_^

No, it's based on whether or not I agree. I've given lots of religious folk a thumbs up.

There are also a few atheists round here who let the side down, in which case my thumb goes the same way.

No - It is based on the answer provided. I don't hesitate to give a thumbs down, but I never report anyone, due to a personal preference for giving others a platform versus depriving them of it. I am hoping that others will afford me the same license.

I don't give anyone a thumbs down based on their religion. Nor do I give them a thumbs down when someone ask them about their belief. How many really why would someone give another thumbs down for answering when someone ask what their religion is about?

I only give thumbs down when they either didn't answer the question, said something offensive or their answer lacks logic, like when somebody says "The Bible says so," or something like that. Where in the Bible or why do you believe the Bible?

Occasionally I deviate from these rules subconsciously, or accidentally (click down when I mean up). You should be able to take back a thumbs down

Thumbs up/down: Never. Never ever.

Beliefs: I need to learn the details of the beliefs of others before I decide if they are worth knowing further.

You've never noticed the Christians giving everyone but themselves a thumbs down?

i give people a thumbs down or thumbs up based on the comment they made. i especially give a thumbs down when someone insults me, my beleifs, or others. but all the thumbs down and thumbs up are mostly based on peoples opinion.
i'm Christian and I wouldnt give a person a thumbs down because their athiest. i'd give an athiest a thumbs down if they, say, said "you Christians are stupid and ignorant and f*ck your god...." you know, stuff like that. i'd also disagree with a Christian too. but whatever, it's all based on opinion.
