Regardless of the make or manufacturer, you have to keep the Crossbow "track" waxed..This is the groove your bolt(arrow) slides in while it's being launched. Your strings are breaking way too early than they should because of the friction between the string and the track I described. You can use simple canning wax (Paraffin) or even a regular candle to wax the groove and the string itself (Put plenty of wax directly on the string where it slides alone the groove. If you don't have wax candles around the house you can go to a Sporting Goods store like Cabelas,***** Sporting Goods, Bass Pro Shops etc and tell the clerk you want BOWSTRING WAX (It will be in the Archery/Crossbow Department. It looks like a big tube of Chapstick, and only costs $2-3 for a tube that will last a whole year or more. Keep your Crossbow waxed about every 15-20 shots and your strings won't wear and break early anymore......

JD got it also check for burs ,or sharp edges use a piece of thread on hard to reach places if it snags or cuts the thread it will do the same to your string. I used an Emory board lightly to smooth off sharp edges.
