Now let me say, a glass of water that yu Drink - and Water is H2O. Have you yourself found out that it is H2O or did someone else did the finding and you just believed that?

If you believd someone else' report of the mo;ecular combination of water, why then you cant believe in the Creator of the World - GOD?

Whatever your beliefs - it will not deny the existence of GOD!!

Because water is scientific. Like evolution.

OH WAIT...........they haven't proven that, either....

honey, don't bother. Nothing you say will convince them. Leave it to God.

There is a major differences between believing God and believing the water is H20. For me God existence would change how think, live and grow. On the other hand the atoms that make up a water molecule don't have the much effect on my life. So you see the reason I'm more skeptical of God existence is because it would have such a big impact on my life.

First of all, that is only one of many reason I don't believe God exists.

Second of all, a person can study chemistry, and read that water is H2O, but you're right, it's not proof. However, ANY person can conduct the experiment (or whatever it takes), so they can observe for themselves that water is indeed H2O.

A person can read the bible, and read that God exists, and you're right, reading is not proof. But, as a skeptic, can I ever observe God? No, the bible clearly states that I will never see God, because I don't believe it's true. I have to believe God exists to "see" God! Which really just means, if you believe hard enough, you'll interperate things to be God, when in reality, it's just life.

A skeptic of science might think that water is not actually H2O. They might not believe the text books. However, some one who doesn't believe a science book, can be shown proof that water really is H2O. They can actually observe this fact, even without prior belief of the fact!

If proof IS required in sicence, the proof can be observed! That's not the case with God. If proof is required, we get excuses like "Since you ask for proof, I wont give you proof, God only shows Himself to believers"

If really wanted to take the time you could empirically prove the fact that water is made up of hydrogen and oxygen. You could even take the classical approach and repeat Antoine Lavoisier's experiments which led up the discovery of hydrogen and oxygen
Would you care to show us how you empirically prove the existence of God ?

That has got to be the lamest argument i've ever heard!!
To me water is water...I don't really care if it's hydrogen dioxide or not. As far as water is concerned I can feel it, taste it, and see it, so I don't have to rely on belief to beleive in it's existence.
If one looks carefully at your argument, your claim that one beleives the molecular structure of water based on someone else's say-so, and should therefore believe in God based on say-so as well, it becomes apparent that you must believe everything you hear.
I should, just for laughs, tell you that the moon is made of blue cheese, but then i'd just as guilty as you of trying to mislead.

You really need to learn how to present yourself better. No chatspeak would help.

Did I find out on my own that water was make of two hydrogen molecules and one oxygen molecule? No. Did I accept it when others--specifically authoritative figures like teachers or my parents--told me it was fact? Yes.

However, religion is a faith. Faith has nothing to do with fact, it's "believing in something you know ain't true", in the words of Mark Twain. I don't agree with believing in something if you've got no reason to. Following something that could be a figment of your imagination. Whole-heartedly believing in something that has no possibility of ever being proven ever.

You are assured in your faith, correct? The ancient Greeks were assured of theirs as well. They killed the nonbelievers, even. But you regard the many gods and goddesses of ancient Greece false, right? Why? If you had enough faith, they could be there.

This is my point: Believing in God is purely imagination or, as I would put it, delusion. There is no way to tell God is there, no way to prove that the Bible wasn't written by a couple of drunks, no way to prove that Noah's flood happened, no way to prove that Jesus was alive, no way to prove "Virgin" Mary never had sex to have Jesus, and so on.

You're just blindly following the religion that, most likely, your parents are a part of.

I believe water is H2O because based on the science of chemistry it makes sense.

However Gods existence based on the bible really doesn't...

Hey, I am a Muslim.

I have a lecture for everyone who wants proof of Almighty God. It is by the brilliant Muslim scholar, Dr. Zakir Naik. He proves Almighty God’s existence by using some of the many scientific verses in the Qur’an. Scientists are recently discovering these facts, but they were already in the Qur’an 1400 years ago! Please listen to the lecture. It is worth your time.

Okay, did someone prove God existed then, like the molecular scientist proved water was hydrogen oxide? Because if they did, it is news to me. The existence or non-existence of God is a personal belief not a fact-based one.

It's called chemistry and I had that class when I was 13.

"Have you yourself found out that there is a god or did someone else tell you and you just believed that"

Well, I was able to perform experiments to establish the molecular combinations that constitute water, I did not have to rely on someone telling me that it was so.

I haven't been able to perform any experiment to prove the existence of god.

On the other hand, my reason tells me that a god who is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent and loves humans could do a much better job of letting that be known than to provide a bible or a qur'an written by mysognists.
