Spaghetti does taste different when sauce is added to the pot, as pasta, wehn allow to sit in any form of liquid, it will absorb the flavor of that liquid. So your pasta tastes more full flavored when it has had time to absorb the flavor of the sauce in the pot. That is why dishes like lasagna tastes so much better the following day, and even better 2 days later after it has been cooked. In the case of your father, he probalbly doesn't put much sauce on his pasta for this reason, he likes the lighter tasting pasta. Fix his bow seperate, then makes your the way you like it. it will be fine that way.

I do not like it mixed together, but I prefer more noodles than sauce, I go really light on the sauce.
The problem you have it that you can simply put your portion in a bowl and mix it and let your Dad have them separate. Really doesn't seem like much of a problem when the solution is so simple

I like the sauce and pasta mixed together; I was raised that way. I don't think it tastes different except the sauce sticks to the pasta better.
Leave the pasta in the colander and make it serve yourself and you can add the amount of sauce you like and mixed how you like it.

Oh well, That's the way I like it. So take a portion out of the spaghetti when cooked and put the sauce in a bowl for your father, then mix the sauce and spaghetti for yourself.

I answered your other question as well......I'm in the same boat with you, I like them mixed in the pot, where as your dad likes his separate, but they're going to be together anyway......just put his pasta in a bowl and top with the sauce, then portion yours into a larger bowl and mix away....then place into a smaller bowl and Enjoy!!!

i would take a serving out of each one for him then mix together for you. a little time consuming but you both are happy and get to eat it the way you like.

It's good like that. Especially leftovers. (I like to mix a little barbecue sauce in it and... mmm mmm.)
But if that's the way your family serves it, just eat it the way they serve it.
