we do and I am not all that excited about it either. They tend to be a little too liberal for me. I find that there is not enough reverence taught today in the schools--(Catholic that is) how about you?

Our parish school, like our parish, is 100% Catholic and orthodox. Not liberal in the slightest.

It's true that there's a huge variation among Catholic schools. From what I've observed locally, much depends on who is running/staffing the schools. In our former parish there are many religious sisters on the faculty and the priests are actively involved in overseeing catechesis and curriculum. In our current parish, though, the school is run entirely by laity and the non-religious curriculum is pretty much on a par with the local public schools.

I don't mean to imply that 100% lay administration/staffing and liberalization go hand-in-hand, here or anywhere else, but I do think it can be a factor.

We have a school and it's excellent in both academics and spiritual formation. It's also cheap. $400 for first kid, $200 for second, $100 for third and fourth and up are free. Best test scores in the city, no bullying, really loving atmosphere. And it's very multi-ethnic.

I attendede Catholic schools and I loved the nuns who taught there. I also sent my children to Catholic school and they got a good education. Talk to the priest abou your concerns. That should ease your mind OK SWEETIE?

No, I got the best of both worlds. The liberalism of public education and the spirituality of the Church.
