Child or Adult? Kids are self-centered (deservedly so, I think), and as you grow into adulthood, and especially parenthood, you can come to an understanding of the things that your parents did.
As a daughter..and a parent..I think:
Compassion
Sense of self and responsibility
Un-nosiness (not a real word, I know! But what my parents do at this point is no business of mine.)
I have to add that compassion and a sense of self and responsibility have to be taught. Good parenting...I still believe...stands for something. No qualities are genetic or easily taught when it comes to raising a child.

I think topmost among the qualities of both my son and daughters is that of being a friend to their parent. In order to have a friend relationship (once the tug of war of the teenage years is over) with your older children, there has to have grown a mutual respect, and its so neat when my kids come home and WANT to spend time with me.
Those times are precious, when they want to just have a meal at home, and watch TV together, or see what I have been doing in the yard or my latest hobby....and when we are working in the yard hoeing or building a wall, the neatest discussions happen sort of serendipity---without being planned. Then they share their struggles or the important things in their lives! But that one-on-one time is so important to me and to them!

Good qualities would be help fullness, donation, and does not disrespect most people.
Also a good son or daughter may get out of controll just wait in silence let them express their feeling on a pillow and wait. When it is over slowly tell them about what you thought about what they just did let them interuppt u if they need too if they do just be silent and wait

Those are terrible answers. The best quality of a son or daughter is that they love God and glorify Him as they were made for. Plus, they will be full of a lot more joy, instead of trying to seek after things, pleasing themselves or pleasing others like their parents or society.

the qualities that you enstill in them. sons and daughters don't raise themselves. they don't come already programmed with right or wrong. you have to teach them. so the important qualities of a good son or daughter are the ones that you teach.

I think respect and love for the family is the most important thing. If you have that, then you treat each other with love, even when you may not agree with each other.

The fact that my little girls are alive is a blessing which for which i am eternally grateful. Their smiles and love are all I need and I love them unconditionally and always will.

i have one son and one daughter, i do not put conditions on the qualities they posess, i love them unconditionally.
