Hi! Is this your artist?
Richard Sedlack (as of 2001) resides north of Ann Arbor, MI, with his wife, Sandra, also a painter. Their home, designed by him, is situated on ten acres. Living in a somewhat rural area is a step toward a greater dream that is related to his art. Richard was born in southern Alabama in 1945, a time when the gulf coast was undeveloped. While still a child, his family moved to urban Detroit. He resolved that he would escape the urban life and return to unspoiled nature. This became, and continues to be, the inspiration for his art. Since receiving his BFA from Wayne State U., Detroit, in 1969, Richard has been developing his artistic skills and his knowledge of nature. Having reached a level of artistic maturity, he is now both productive and consistent. Along with changes of circumstance, he is able to paint more and to take an active role in sharing his art. Richard is an exhibiting member of Oil Painters of America, most recently exhibiting in galleries in Washington, DC and Chicago. His work was selected as a finalist from 10,000 entries in the 1998 "Artist" magazine's international competition. He is represented by "The Timmel Collection" in Saugatuck, MI. and online at www.thetimmelcollection.com.
