Well...eating less actually slows down your metabolism.
To speed it up, exercize first thing in the morning and never skip breakfast...

As everyone else has said "just dieting" won't change your metabolism. Even getting 30mins of some type of exercise at least three times a week will help. With even just a little exercise you will help keep your metabolism functioning at a higher level than if you are just dieting and live a sedentary life style.
I myself am not one who exercises, although I want to and I know I always feel better, I just can't seem to keep myself motivated after I come home from work. My job (Teacher) keeps me on my feet alot. I've reduced my portion sizes and cut out the late night snacking. I increase my water intake, when I remember too, but I'm not extremely "dedicated" to anything. I don't beat myself up if I eat something I know I shouldn't or eat too much at any given time. With just the changes I have made and the "good attempts" at healthier living, I have lost 85lbs in 3 years and with the exception of a 2-3 pound fluctuation here and there I not gained back any of the weight I've lost.
If your a dedicated soda drinker (like me) and haven't switched to diet yet...I lost 30lbs alone by just doing that! Don't worry about "cheating". If you deny yourself the foods your crave, eventually just one or two bites of something "sinful" won't be enough and the next thing you know you ate "the whole thing". Little changes over time have been very successful for me and the compliments and "way to goes" I get have helped in just helping keep up with what I have been successful with.
Good luck and Bright Blessings )O(

First, speeding up your metab is done only by exercise, not food. By exercising regularly, everything works faster, more efficient, thus burning more fat and calories. Just dieting doesn't do this.
Secondly, if you are dieting, you really should have one cheat day a week, otherwise this is when we binge. Go ahead go for it, just get back on the diet the next day, also start jogging again.

First, decrease the undesirable fat: Crisco type shortening, fried foodstuff, and margarine. next, eat some good fat; olive oil, canola oil, and shop it organic - as quickly as I could have butter, i exploit actual organic butter. Then; change to a hundred% finished grain products - AND decrease the type of grain products you eat in a million/2. ie: eat a million slice of bread somewhat of two, eat a million/2 cup of rice, and so on. finally: double or maybe triple the quantity of vegetables you eat - i attempt to eat a million uncooked fruit and a pair of servings of uncooked greens daily. the main serious element as nicely foodstuff plan -cardio exercising! commence small: in the beginning up i could purely do approximately 10 minutes of exercising. After a million and a million/2 weeks i could do quarter-hour. Now i'm as much as half-hour and on Saturday-I exercised for 40 5 minutes! when you are able to exercising aerobically for 20 minutes, upload some arm weights and sit down-ups. another element, which will show you how to sense extra clever is to diminish the quantity of sugar you eat. and attempt to not eat something with extreme Fructos Corn Syrup in it. It replaced into presented approximately 2 many years in the past into the foodstuff furnish. many makers switched from hassle-free sugar to that. it is going to force your pancreas loopy and that i've got a concept this is is a substantial contributor to insulin resistance which leads to type 2 diabetes. it somewhat is only my thought.

your diet does not change your metabolic rate. The only thing that changes your rate is exercise and then it is only changed for the time you are actually exercising.
As long as you think that "cheating" on what you eat is actually cheating, you aren't going to succeed at long term weight loss and maintenance. You must make a life style change, a life long commitment to eating healthy and living healthy, don't "cheat" yourself when it comes to your health.

dieting slows the metabolism, it does not speed it up.
