make him throw up

Just give hime half of a alka -selter, in his water, or do nothing, cause unless he acts sick then he will be fine, my dog has eaten it plenty of times and he didnt die! It has to be a large quinity for them to get sick or accualey die! If he is acting sick all you need to do is go out to your pharamacy or your walmart, (walgreens is open 24/7) and go to the baby section and buy a medical surenge, the kind you use to give baby's medicine, and then ask a clerk or pharmissit where the i-pectate is, is is for adults and small children who have ingested something they should not have, and then they take a few table spoons of it, and it make them throw up, buy that, and when you get home, look at what the bottle says to give small children or just children under the age of 12, and then use the syrenge and open your dogs mouth and squirt it down his throut, this will make him throw up the chocolate, and then he should fell better! Hope he is going to be ok, but i don't think no harm will come to him to be honest, dogs eat worse stuff than that, and it takes alot to kill a dog!~

A lot depends on how much chocolate was eaten. If more than a small bite was eaten, I would be looking for an after hours emergency vet clinic. Dogs cannot digest & excrete the amount of potassium that is in chocolate & it can cause kidney failure.

It depends upon HOW MUCH chocolate your dog ate in relation to HIS/HER SIZE.

If he only ate a small portion he'll/she'll be just fine! So DON'T panic. ;)

I once had a German Shepard eat a WHOLE Two-Layer Chocolate cake WITH choc Frosting show no negative consequences.

My late husband, on the other hand, used to feed 3 Oreos a day to his Boston Terrier. After about 5 years of this, she started having seizures. THAT was when I found out about the "chocolate is poison to dogs, cats and rodents thing"! (1986) Needless to say, she got no more chocolate!...unless he sneaked it to her ...sometimes!

How much chocolate? My puppy (about six months at the time) ate chocolate (a whole bar) and the vet said not to worry. It was a Kit Kat bar, so maybe not as much chocolate as a Jersey Milk.... Try calling an emergency vet line.

It depends how much chocolate and what concentration the dog ate. I have had my dog eat a whole pack of tootsie rolls (with the wrappers (=), so you really don't have to do anything unless your dog ate a lot of chocolate. But if your dog ate a lot, then you may want to take your dog to the veterinary emergency room, which should be open late at night.

Best,
David

look up in the yellow pages. I'm sure there are vet clinics which open 24 hours. but usually it'll be costly.

I learn dogs can't have chocolate. I tried not to have any chocolate on my table or somewhere can be reached by my dog.

I hope your dog will be fine

Honestly, if it wasn't a large amount of chocolate I wouldn't worry about it. My dog ate a box of chocolate once while I was away from home and she wasn't sick. It's only toxic if they eat large amounts of chocolate. It's actually toxic for humans as well if we eat large amounts, but no human can eat chocolate fast enough for it to be toxic. The reason it's toxic for dogs is they can consume food much faster and are able to reach the toxic level if enough chocolate is available to them. If your dog just ate a candy bar, I wouldn't worry. I'm sure your dog will be fine.

It depends on the amount whether or not he will get sick. My 10lb dachshund ate a Hershey' kiss and was fine. I did force her to throw up, though.
Chocolate is poisonous for dogs but it depends on how much your dog eats before it will get really sick.

If it wasn´t a lot, then it may not be a big deal. But if it was a lot or your dog is showing the signs of being seriously ill, I would suggest trying to enduce a gag reflex and making him vomit it out.
