1) Vary your footwear - i.e. rotate among flats, supportive athletic shoes, heels.

2) Drink enough water; dehyrdration can lead to cramps.

3) Excercise & stretch your feet.
e.g pick up pencils or marbles from the floor w/ your toes
roll your feet over a golf ball

Try taking a multi-mineral supplement, one with lots of calcium. Another thing that causes cramping is lack of circulation or staying in one position for too long. If you wear tight pants or shoes or wear the same shoes all the time that could be the problem.

If the cramping occurs mostly when you relax, try giving your feet a warm soak to relax them and then doing flex exercises like rolling your ankles (making as large a circle with your toes as you can). You can also buy a studded bar to roll under your arch, or just use an old glass coke bottle. That will help stretch and relax your foot and stimulate circulation.

Foot cramps can be particularly painful and hard to ease... you have my sympathy...

It could also be as a result of low potassium levels. The only way to know for sure is to see your doctor for further evaluation of the situation to see what they think could be causing the problem.

Do you have artheritis? Go to the Doc. to make sure. Get a massage done on your feet or get a little foot jet thing.
