Professor of Theology Peter Swinburne stated in a TV discussion that

"The Holocuast was justified on the grounds that it gave the Jews a wonderful opportunity to be courageous and noble".

Another Professor (Peter Atkins) growled a reply with the words:-

"May you rot in hell."

You have got to be kidding me. That is outrageously ridiculous! Stupid people should have their voice boxes removed.

Is this a true quote? IF it is I can tell you with all certainty that what Peter Swinburne said did not please God-
A person can say that they are a Christian but be very far from a true believer. No one would justify the Holocaust- at all- let alone what he said. I am sure some Jews who miraculously survived it, may be stronger in their faith, but that is no reason for those 1,000's and 1,000's that were killed. And Peter Atkins- needs to leave that judgment to God Himself. And do not categorize and say all Christians would say such horrible things, because we wouldn't.

I think the holocuast was the most horrible thing that has ever happened. And that those that committed it will burn in hell. But Jesus warned the Jews that this would happen and they didn't see it when it came. All Jesus' prophecies, some have come to pass and some are yet to come. Why don't we learn from these prophecies.
Jesus told the Jews that they would be hated of all nations and that they would be led as sheep to a slaughter

to say that the Holocuast was at all justified is sick. Those were God's people that Hitler had molested, tortured, and killed. I hope that Professor Swinburne is born again and on his way to heaven... but I can't blame Professor Atkins for his reply.

I think Peter Atkins was closer to the truth.

I am a Jew who became a Christian about 35 years ago when Jesus changed my life and set me free from a lifestyle of drugs, booze, et cetera.

From BOTH perspectives (Jewish AND Christian), Swinburne is spewing a very hateful message.

There was NO justification for the holocaust, and it's sad that there are people today who are trying to remove it from our history books!!!

The first part that Professor of Theology Peter Swinburne said is just a bunch of crap

the first professor is not speaking from either a biblical point of view, nor is he speaking from a christian point of view. He is speaking out of the ignorance of his liberal theology.

the good news is that he will soon have an opportunity to find out just how wrong he is. That bad news is, that everyone else will also have that same opportunity.

as for the second guy, I think he might be speaking for all those christians who want to say that but don't. He would not have spoken for me though, as I would asked, why would you say that? are you Anti-God? Are you anti-Jew, are you anti-christian, anti-gypsie, anti-gay, anti-catholic, anti-policitical prisoner, anti-free speech

the first man is clearly a very sad individual...I honestly pitty someone who sits so high and mighty not knowing the suffering they (those above) when through for no other reason than being alive.

God gave us all answers we need to know in the bible. He also said in the bible that we will only know partially now, but when the Time comes, and i mean His Time we will know ALL. I am not a minister or a professor, but i know and believe in my bible The Word of God. There i find all my answers piece and specially HOPE! I hope that trough Jesus Christ our Lord that i would be taken up into heaven if my life on this earth has come to a end. Jesus set to us a example on earth not to retaliate but to turn the other cheek. Not meaning you do not have to defend yourself, but Peter Atkins retaliate in anger instead of using his brains and talents that God gave him. St Paul said that we could investigate everything on earth but keep the good that we have learned from it. And it's also written in the bible '...... we live in a evil world and it's best for a wise man rather to keep his silence.........' Listen to all they say but keep the good and i know you would never go wrong!

So, you are going to continue casting billions of people as ignorant by reason of one man's words?

Al Gore, who represents the liberals was quoted as saying this in public:
At an event in Las Vegas on Monday, 09/1800, Gore declared potential breast cancer victims faced "a long waiting line before they could get a biopsy or, uh, or a uh, another kind of, what am I looking for, a sonogram or...." People in the crowd shouted "mammogram."
(Source: Fox News 09/18/00; MSNBC 09/21/00 - The News with Brian Williams)

What are your thoughts on this liberal point of view?

Justified? No of course not. That's a ridiculous statement.

Of course the Jews did prove to be very courageous and noble. So that half of the statement is true.

There was no justification for the Holocaust. These gentlemen are not representatives of my beliefs. As Psalm 146:3 warns, "Do not put your trust in nobles."
