I think it's better to get LCD as it's not as exposed to burn-in as a plasma would be. Also, look for HDMI ports. HDMI gives you the flexibility of viewing in High Definition. Also, look at screen resolution. Any tv with 720p or higher is a good start. If you're looking for true high definition, try finding an LCD or plasma with 1080i or 1080p for the ultimate experience. Make sure the television has plenty of inputs/outputs for viewing flexibility. If possible, look at the reviews of the television to see what others whom have purchased it have to say. If you want, go see the product in person to find the picture that best suites you.
If you want to shop online for a great TV, go to
www.crutchfield.com (great prices & customer service)
www.tigerdirect.com (very low prices & great cust. svc.)
Crutchfield and Tiger Direct have lots of reviews for most of its products, so if you shop with either or, you'll see plenty of reviews to judge for yourself what's best. Go with the LCD as it's a better choice. Best of luck.

no longer attempting to bash on anyones solutions yet you may desire to do surely analyze earlier you answer a question like this one.. Plasma Tvs have attain the factor the place they are almost as good as OUR great CRT televisions in the present day. confident they're going to burn out yet no longer for 7 to 10 years and thats with severe use... LcDs have not got the refresh fee that a plasma has so liquid crystal show's can supply off a ghosting impression for the period of rapid action scenes like activities or video clips. Lcds are stunning at smaller sizes yet bigger ones can no longer do what plasma can... Plasma is ultimate at sizes 40 two and up.. something smaller i might propose liquid crystal show. yet are not getting a plasma from Sams or a place like that.. visit Circuit or ultimate purchase.

The first poster is right. I have no idea why everyone gets excited about plasma. Out of the mainstream choices (CRT, LCD, plasma), plasma would be my third choice.
