Staten Island, Manhattan, and the Bronx...Brooklyn Queens and Long Island are all the same land mass

Queens and Brooklyn are technically both on Long Island, so you don't have to cross water to go from one to the other. Otherwise, you have to cross water to get to Staten Island, Manhattan or the Bronx.

You must cross over water to get to Manhattan, Staten Island, or the Bronx. You can get to Queens over land or by crossing over water (Newton Creek or Rockaway Sound).
