I put it on from time to time and when I see Pat Robertson with his right wing political rants and Benny Hinn with his smarmy self-gratifying drivel and dodgy claims about being able to heal people it just makes me cringe. I mean, what worse advert could there be for Christianity?

I have seen tapes occasionally that are from the 'God' channel and if I watched it all the time, would probably feel as you do!

However, we are warned that there will be many 'false' prophets and only by seeing the 'fruit' of people's lives can we know whether they are true, or false! Most of those on television only seem interested in feathering their own nests. There have been instances when 'conversions' have been claimed by the thousand, yet I have heard it said that at the time a different question from "Do you want to accept Jesus into your life?" has been asked, just as the picture was taken.

I was a member of a 'charasmatic' church for a number of years and left because I didn't agree with the way in which the leaders were taking it! They used to have a lot of 'meetings' with famous speakers and I used to think that they must know Jesus better than I did - otherwise I'd be on the stage! However, over time I found that they didn't actually know the Jesus that I know, love and serve every day!

There is no doubt that when a lot of people get together they can get carried away on mass hysteria and hype! The buckets are always circulating for donations - and how much of that actually goes to furthering God's Work can be questionable!

However, I am sure that there are people on those channels who really have a loving, relationship with Jesus and therefore would rather cut off their right arm than knowingly mislead people! It's just difficult sometimes to sort the sheep from the goats - and as someone rightly pointed out, satan is always on hand to make mischief where he can!

One of my dreams has been to be able to share the Jesus that I know, love and serve with the world, but so far the opportunity to be an evangelist has not been granted - at least not on a global scale!

I apologize for those of my brothers and sisters in Christ who have offended so many, thier zeal to share their faith has obviously gone overboard!

As far as I am concerned, my commission from Jesus is to share my faith whereever, whenever, with whoever will listen! However, Jesus Himself is a Gentleman (which is part of why I love Him so much, because having been forced most of my life by other people I won't BE forced by anyone anymore), He Stands at the door of the human heart and Knocks! The handle is on the inside of the door (as depicted in a famous painting), if the person does not open the door of their heart for Him to enter, He will NOT force Himself upon them!

I love Jesus because He is Turning me from a coward (some one with no opinion of their own for fear of reprisals) into an 'Overcomer'! Hence this email, stating my position clearly for the world to see!

Jesus Asks me to share the reasons why I have faith in Him, but I have to respect people's decisions just as He does! Your decision is between Him and you, I've simply been obedient to Him!

Would that people who don't believe could recipricate the respect, rather than being derisory and sometimes downright nasty!

God Bless you,

Margi

It get's worse. For example did you know lent was "made-up" so that fishermen wouldn't starve when new ways to preserver red meat were discovered. And also that at the Vatican there all like 50 miles of hidden secret library of information no one will ever see. Why do they need so many secrets I thought they were good oriented. Christianity made it legal to execute people who argued things that have been proven true today. For example the first people to say that the earth revolved around the sun (in argument of the sun revolving around the earth) were killed and imprisoned for this. Christianity killed geniuses of there time for being right, and who can say what would have been invented or discovered and how that would have helped the course of our lives today? I believe in good and evil, I don't bother investing time or money to a poorly ran "mascot" for religion better known as Christianity.

You only have one?

I have Sky Angel, and only about 2 or 3 channels ever have anything good on.

I never watch the goofy stuff like Benny Hinn, Jan and Paul or Jim Baker.

I do really enjoy David Barton and Michael Rood and programs like Answers in Genesis and Creation discoveries.

Some of the specials are good too, and the Christian World News can be more informative than Fox.

I don't like Fox news alot. I think they call it Fox because of all the anchor babes reporting on non-stories involving other Foxes like Britany etc. I generally only watch War Stories and the Half-Hour News Hour on Fox.

I think if God had His own actual channel, it would be very different from anything any of us (or they) could come up with! There are, actually, a lot of channels out there with Christian programming, so I'm not completely sure which channel you're referring to. I'm not a big fan of most televangelists either, but Daystar and TBN have Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyers, TD Jakes and lot of other great speakers who give a wonderful example of Cristianity and Christians.

Does the God Channel put people off Christianity? That's what it's for.

People like Benny Hinn and Pat Robertson do put people off to Christianity. But then you also get people like Kirk Cameron who has used his fame to further the Kingdom of the All Mighty, and do it well.

When witnessing, or reaching out to people who are about to give their life to Him, I find it easier just to forewarn them: Hey, there are some idiots out there who think they're "helping" spread God's word, when in reality they're just making themselves look like a pious a-hole and giving the good/decent Christians a bad image"

When it comes to faith in G-d you look for the people or do you look for G-d?

If you look for people they will always not be able to measure up to what you think.

If you are seeking G-d than you will know that you don't measure up and you have the work on yourself to be done.

G-d gave us the choice to accept him or not.
You will always find plenty of excuses not to believe.
It is when you get a hold of the idea that G-d loves you and you love G-d than it will fall into place.
Than you seek the body of believers that you are comfortable with for the body of G-d has many parts I am sure you can fit in there somewhere. I did and I am was a project myself.

Good luck in your quest.

I think we have 3 God Channels or something like that on Sky+, but I can't watch them. Not because of it's disgraceful towards Christianity, but because its been blocked for hate speech. So I just get a blue screen saying "This Channel has been blocked. Please call : 0800(can't remember the number) to unlock and enter you Pin Code".
