In my Spanish class, we are having a fiesta. Everyone has to bring in a Mexican food for the party. It has to be authentic, pure Mexican, and easy enough for a 13 year old to make. Any ideas? Any sites?

Look for Pan de Polvo recipes. And use a recipe with lard in it. This is the real Pan de Polvo. The lard makes it melt in your mouth. These cookies are easy to make and delicious.

Tamales are great but too much trouble to make. If you look you can also find enchilada recipes that give step by step pictures, just put 'how to make enchiladas' in the search engine, although you will need a parent to help you with any cooking or at least be around when you use the oven.

I know that guacamole is an easy dip to make and I live in a town that is mostly Hispanic and they do eat it. If you do make it, add a little lemon and save the pit of the avocado and place it in the middle to keep it from going brown and also press the plastic wrap down where it touches the dip so there is no air at all in the bowl. And you would have to make it the morning of school not the night before.

you could either do a homemade "sweet" salsa or a homemade guacamole. there are a lot of recipes on the Internet if you type in that. they are so good. i do not like spicy foods and i am 13 and the salsa is so good. the guacamole just uses smashed avocados and a few spices. they are both delicious purely mexican choices.

Bean Tostadas!!! if you have the ability to heat the canned refried beans (in the canned vegetable aisle in the grocery store...) in the microwave at school, everything else can be portioned into food storage containers (lettuce, cheese, salsa etc) and assembled at school.......Tostada shells can be purchased or you can home make them with corn tortillas........That would be the easiest and tostadas are authentic......Enjoy!!!

try to make fresh salsa . . . all you need are tomatoes, lime, jalepenos, cilantro and some corn chips to go along with it! i don't know if there has to be a recipe for it . . . you can taste as you go along to see if you have the right proportions.
