The low will go on and off for weeks at a time. I have checked all the fuses. The high/low switch works fine. All other accesories work fine. Has anybody had this problem? Both mechanic and dealer is stumped.

Take the cover off of your sterring column and look @ the wiring in it I've had this exact problem b4. It was a wire that pulled itself out of a harness (wierd I Know)

The high beams and low beams are operated from the multifunction switch on the side of the steering column that the signal light handle comes out of and signals the Front Control Module under the hood to turn the signal lights on. You need to check the switch first and go from there. It sounds like the multifunction switch to me because they usually act that way before going out. If you can mark the low beams flicker or try to work while working the handle, it will also prove to be the switch. Also do like cj360 above says. If it has tilt, which I'm sure it dose, you may have a wire loose.Wiggle the wheel up and down and see if they come on.

They run on two separate circuits. The first thing you should do is check all connections and verify they are in good condition The low is shorting out somewhere. Start doing voltage drops across the low beam circuit and see what turns up. This will help you locate the exact spot where it is shorted.Good luck.

I had the same truck, same problem. I replaced the multi-function switch and no more problems. Good luck.
