Well, in my case, I sold my soul for the ability to make the perfect Jack & Coke.
So mine isn't really "lost", rather, it is gone.

Yes, No, Wait, seems to be covering all possible angles to me. Gotta love a religion built on faith and prayer, two absolutely worthless concepts. It is embarrassing that any grown, semi educated, rational human can believe this beyond the age they give up their other childhood myths.
As paul said in 1 Corrinthian 13:11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
Do you think Paul understood irony?

How can You ask a question like this and call Yourself an Atheist? Prayers? -- implying God. No god, no soul -- get it? Do i know more about being an Atheist than YOU do? You want us to think that Atheists sit around during their free time worrying about such inanities. You should try to learn something about atheism before You post another question.

I don't know that my prayers for atheist souls aren't working. I pray for everyone that all will know God. But only He and the individual know whether that will happen or not. I have faith and will keep praying.

Prayer works perfectly... for people with political power!
Prayer gives the masses an outlet for their problems that does not involve action.
For example: "Pray for our Troops" keeps millions of people from demanding their safe return.

Most christians I associate with pray for intervention for compromised health issues they, members of their family, or close associates are experiencing. They also ask for help that will assist them to make difficult decisions. Prayer is acceptable to me. It's really a mental activity that provides the person with self created inspiration. It certainly can't harm anything. Praying for negative, and harmful results seems to me to be cursing, not praying. I do not accept cursing.

And what is your evidence that it never works? Are you seriously that ignorant that you aren't aware of any atheists that become Christians?
Also, God does not love the entire world and does not intend to save everyone, far from it, he teaches most people will end up in Hell. And not for nothing, it's to make it clear for all time that those who refuse to repent are not peaceful (meaning they won't obey God lovingly let alone that well), will only get worse, and will never repent no matter how much pain they are in.
"I will punish the world for its evil, the wicked for their sins. I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty and will humble the pride of the ruthless." - Isaiah 13:11
"If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you." - John 15:19
"I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— 17the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him." - John 14:16-18
"In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived." - 2 Timothy 3:12-14
Also, most Christians are false Christians who hate God and pretend to love him or love their false version of him, one that does not teach what I told you, but teaches a free-for-all God that forgives everyone in the end except Christians like me (how kind and unbiased huh?), so if they are praying for you, God ain't listening to them, which is what the Bible teaches too.
Also, God hardly fulfills the prayers of Christians who are NOT righteous but below righteous and there are few righteous and who are probably praying for a whole lot other things then simply for atheists to be saved.
Your attitude is self-centered and you shouldn't assume.
God bless you.

Simple because our prayers are an appeal to the mercy of God that in His own good knowledge and time He will grant the grace to unbelievers to be able to open their hearts to the inevitable truth, and God will find a way without interfering in their free will, for example many Christians had to really hit rock bottom in their lives to realize that there had to be something better than the misery and emptiness they constantly lived with and only then did they cry out for help to the God who waited for them to come to Him.

How do you know they are not working?
Prayer is the elevation of the mind and heart to God:
+ In praise of his glory
+ In petition for some desired good
+ In thanksgiving for a good received
+ In intercession for others before God
Through prayer the Christian experiences a communion with God through Christ in the Church.
"For me, prayer is a surge of the heart; it is a simple look turned toward heaven, it is a cry of recognition and of love, embracing both trial and joy." (St. Thérèse of Lisieux)
"Prayer is the raising of one's mind and heart to God or the requesting of good things from God." (St. John Damascene)
But when we pray, do we speak from the height of our pride and will, or "out of the depths" of a humble and contrite heart? (Psalm 130:1)
He who humbles himself will be exalted; humility is the foundation of prayer. Only when we humbly acknowledge that "we do not know how to pray as we ought," are we ready to receive freely the gift of prayer.

With love in Christ.

who says they aren't working.....My prayers are being answered and so are the ones of those who truly believe.
My friend kae just got saved and she didnt believe...I prayed and prayed for her each night for at least a month and god heard and answered my prayers because i asked in his name and believed by faith that he would answer them.
So no one can say that god doesn't answer prayer!
