feed him to a cat. jk

That's just what birds do. If you cover them with a sheet or towel or anything that will make it dark that should make them quiet.

Hey,

At our college we have two really noisy birds & some students kept answering their squeals thinking it would calm them down if they talk at them or tell them to be quiet, but they shouldn't of done that as it is a behavioural problem and the minute they get attention for it they do it all the more. Maybe it is because you've got into the habbit of answering back?

If not that then try these (I'm not saying they will definatley work, just worth a shot):
+ Putting a very thin blanket over the cage - when the cage is darker some birds seem to feel less nervous meaning they calm down.
+ Never answer back as mentioned before
+ Let him/her out every now and then (but only if you will be able to put them back in again!)

Thats all I can think of, I hope it helps! xx

I have two and they are the same way. For the most part they are noisy as hell but I've noticed they tend to get even louder when music is on. Parakeets are known for making lots of noise so there is not to much you can do about it. At night try putting a sheet over the cage, it works for my birds.

Birds are very social. He's probably lonely. You need to talk to him ALOT. When you aren't home, leave the tv on for him, and get him a mirror. The best solution though is get another parakeet to keep him company.

Put a blanket over his cage, he will think its night time and time to sleep, nighty night birdie. However, if you find that you're covering up his cage more often than actually spending time with him and enjoying him, then it's time to find him another home.

hes talking to you.I know it sounds weird, but the best thing to do is talk back, if he chirps at you,
tell him hello, and just keep talking to him til he stops.

Trust me, it will help.

You can't. This is what birds do.

And why is this in the cat section?
