You're a minor, so unfortunately, you have little to no privacy. So yes, you're doctor would have to tell your parents, and only your parents. Only because you are cared about and loved would your doctor do such a thing. Don't be afraid, after all, telling your doctor could ultimately save your life. We all go through hard times hon, especially as teenagers. It's normal, YOU are normal, and you seem like a very smart young lady. Think about the positive and let go of your negative. It's easy to cave in to sadness, it's harder to turn away from it. If you can learn to do that you become a stronger happier person. You have to fight for your well being, don't let life sucker punch you, there are always alternative options than suicide. Good luck and I wish nothing but the best for you young lady ♥

Well......you likely wouldn't have to wait the full 3 weeks. They'd get you in right away.
Suicide and suicidal threats are considered so much of an EMERGENCY that the privacy rules do not apply.....
to SAVE YOUR LIFE.
You are at a vulnerable age and stage in your life. Accept the help. This may be the most serious thing you have ever faced. The seriousness of the emergency kind of sneaks up on you, and you may not realize the extent of your danger.

TELL THE DOC.......NOW even if you need to call his office this afternoon and say it to an answering machine OR
Call the hospital ER and tell the nurse.

I know the pain your going through. I am 20 years old from a small town and I have just recently talked to my family doc about thoughts of suicide. He was very helpful and promised me help is on the way. Don't give up. Continue to get help even if the thought of help is the only thing that keeps you here. We're both still young and still have the opportunity to put many year between us and these thoughts. Tell your doc even if you tell your parents the appointments for allergies or something silly like that. Your a survivor!

Yes. If you tell a doctor about something that will harm you or another person, he/she is obliged to tell. Until you get in to see your therapist, i suggest calling a friend so youre not tempted. Hide all of your sharp objects and and belts. You don't have to tell anybody, becasue i know how difficult that is, but it may be best to have someone else around for support. You can always email me too. I have MSN, AIM, and Yahoo! Messenger, so I could talk to you if it's to hard to deal with on your own. good luck.

Suicide is not an act of chosen. It happens when pain exceeds resources of coping with pain. Your reading of this page definitely indicates desire to be live alive. You are not bad character, crazy, weak or hopeless person who have thoughts of suicide. Surely this situation merits that your pains exceed resources of coping with pain. It has not link with will-power. Neither suicidal feelings are wrong or right nor a defect of character. Morally it is neutral. This is solely imbalance between pain and coping resources. You can be out of such suicidal feelings if you do work on one of these two:

1 Find way to lessen your pain.
2 Explore ways to enhance your coping resources.

Both are possible. Majority of the populace feels the waves of suicidal feelings. Almost all of the deaths comprise 2 % of suicidal deaths. Majority of the people with suicidal feelings can be recovered with the passage of time or with the recovery program. Suicidal thoughts can be overcome with hundreds techniques. Following such techniques we can arrest suicidal thoughts of our selves or beloved ones.

I am doing just great. I like my self, I like what I am doing in my life, and I am glad to be alive.

My life is good. I know who I am, I know where I am going, and I know what I have to do. I take care of my responsibilities, and I take care of my future. I am glad to be here, and my life is better for me now than it has ever been before.

It's your private info. The only way he would have to tell them is if he felt you were a threat to yourself or to others. To get the best help tell your parents. I had a friend who had to go to the mental wing of the hospital because she attempted suicide. Your parents may not understand your reasons but they will be more than willing to get you help. Don't hide this from them.

The doctor has an obligation to speak to your parents if you are under the age of 18, I believe.

If you are suicidal your parents SHOULD know so they can take care of you. Get some help and get it quick. This is nothing to fool around with. Take care.
