I'm going to a psychologist in two weeks. I think I have an anxiety disorder (constant and illogical worry and nervousness over silly things or nothing at all, often to the point of making myself sick). Anyway, if I am diagnosed I'm curious about the possible treatments I may encounter. And if anyone knows of a support forum it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I have suffered from general anxiety disorder for about 5 years now, so I know what you are going through. I saw a therapist for a year, and was also placed on anti-depressants. They allow you to control the illogical thoughts that can control your life. I also learned a lot of breathing and relaxation techniques that help me to calm myself down before my fears get out of control.

Honestly, the medication helps the most, and if I didn't take it I'd still feel like I was going crazy. Good luck, and remember that you aren't alone in this!

I believe making an attempt maybe an additional healing, till you discover one that's suitable to your demands,Some medicines which are proper for a few,are fully flawed for yet another, but the 2 humans would have the equal disease, however have such an additional chemical makeup that what works for one won't always paintings for the opposite,I do not believe this can be a well proposal to head off the med's thoroughly, simply speak in your health care professional approximately your signs, and your emotions round this, and I believe the two of you in combination will arise with an answer.

I have the same problem and even though I hate taking medication (I wont even take a aspirin if I have a headache)I will take a rivatril if it gets to the point that I cant handle it this medication really works there are other antianxietys out there that really work when you are having an attack the most well known medication is Valium ask your doctor about medications in that class
