Unless specifically indicated in the hiring process or employment documents that vacation and sick leave will be paid out to the employee when employment is terminated, then no, you don't.

I also live in New York, while it varies from employer to employer, I'm guessing no in your case. When you quit without notice, that usually leaves a bad taste in your employers mouth, so to speak. Next time, don't screw yourself over like that.

Your employer has to pay you for the time you worked. We, however, don't have to listen to you whine about how tough your life is. we really don't care. The fact that you're stealing from your roommate just makes you a common thief. The emergency room visits and the emergency visit with the shrink just means that you don't plan well. Nope.
You'll get paid any remaining salary for time you actually worked, minus employer contributions to insurance and other perks.
You certainly won't get any vacation pay.

You should have put in for vacation and then when it got okayed ,say okay that is going to be my notice week. that is what I did.
