I just returned from Romania so that may or may not have something to do with it. But it's like a tiny mouse that is trying to poke through the skin. I keep slapping it but it just keeps poking away. I'd shoot it but I'm afraid I'd blow my knee cap off.
I suppose I could go to the doctor, but I don't want to be percieved as a wuss.
Has anybody else out there had this problem?

don't eat cheese! The mouse will follow it through your GI tract causing severe abdominal bloating and pain which will result in having to go to the doctor any way with an obstruction to your colon. Then, you'll have to end up have a colostomy and have just a semi-colon!
Tie a small piece of cheese (and since it's a Romanian mouse use some Romanian cheese) around your knee area.
This will draw the mouse outward and make sure the cheese is securely fastened to a trap so that it will not enter through another body cavity again.

A little mouse? If you have a seperate organism in your skin that has made a home you NEED to get that removed pronto. There is no telling what kind of harm it will do to you. Parasites are never friendly. If we're talking about a wart or mole of some sort, you can freeze it with an over the counter nitrogen tube. I'd see a doctor though.

You should go the the Doctor!! I know someone who went to Costa Rica and got a mosquito bite on her head and that mosquito left something like a larva (like a baby worm) a she felt the same way then you but she took her time to go the Doctor and when she did, The Doctor found a big o' worm inside her skull it grew like an inch wide...Horrible! If were you I would be on my way to the Doctor!!!

k heres a bit of reality
a mouse or whatever the heck is "growing" in your knee is not right.. if its growing and its something that obviously shouldnt be there .. like a mouse for that matter.. is something that should definatly be checked out by the doctor.. if any thing the doctor might think ur crazy for thinkin he/she is crazy for thinkin you would think ur a wuss... r u like honestly on drugs.. cause this my friend is not NORMAL lol!

im sorry but i got so cracked up after reading the part where you hit the "mouse" and it keeps poking back....sorry....anyways go to the doctor let him feel around, maybe take some xrays...trust me if you had a rat in your leg it would have died way back in Romania..and you would be so sick

It sounds like you have a ganglion cyst growing on your knee, it tends to grow in the joint areas. I had one on my wrist and had surgery to remove it, it helped a little, but they do tend to come back. you should go to a doctor and have that checked out. If it is a cyst(ganglion) you don't have much to worry about, except that it is not attractive to look at. Hope it is not anything serious.
