It is all to easy to become regimented in prayer because of the frequency of it and our prayer can become stale and repetitious,the simple remedy for effective and meaningful prayer is to pray from the heart and not just the lips.

When you pray... mean it. Some people think it's the words that do the work but they don't really feel anything in their hearts. When you pray, love the person you are praying for as yourself. If you do that, I feel as though God would definitely answer your prayers.

Talk to him as if he is the best friend you will ever have, one that knows your heart far better than you know it yourself. Praise him for all the beauty in your life. Thank him for all the trials and lessons he has gave you, in order to grow and blossom into the person he would have you be. Bless him because he will always guide you with his strength and love. All prayers should start out praising G-d, then you ask for what you want. Don't pray for material things, that would just piss off G-d and make him think you're a selfish pig.

The only guide lines i have received from the Lord were, when i pray..to be honest, sincere, truthful, real, and from my whole heart...this was His format to me in 1987..and i have used this everytime, and He answers ..., i am sure He doesn't mind that i share this with you..and i feel comfortable with this also... bye! :)

I find it helps if you find a time or place where you won't be disturbed every two minutes..Not as easy as it sounds. Then practise makes perfect.
